One reason why we shouldn’t have soda machines at school is because having soda machines at our school would make kids too hyper. A lot of sodas have tons of caffeine in them, as well as sugar and other bad things. The kids would be making jokes, talking, laughing, and commenting during work time! As a kid, I know how it feels. Caffeine is very powerful, believe me. Kids wouldn’t really listen to their teacher. At all. So hyper they can’t even listen! In 1886 the first fizzy ‘soda’ was made when Joseph Priestley reproduced carbon dioxide in an experiment and dissolved it in water, noting its pleasant taste. From there on Dr. John Pemberton, Caleb Bradham, Charles Alderton and Charles Hires revolutionized his invention, and created four brands of soft drinks which are being sold all over the world, in convenience stores, vending machines, coolers, and in packages. Should large amounts of soda be sold in New York City, considering the health issues that occur when it is consumed? The Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, imposed a law that banned the selling of large sized sugary drinks. “Soda’s a problem but…” is a suitable article on why soda should not be banned in New York City. The article states that 32 oz of soda is harmful to your body, but a complete state banning soda is a little ridiculous.
