Bullying has become an epidemic, and it needs to come to an end. If people will stand up for each other and protect each other, I believe bullying would cease to be effective. It preys on those who do not have the confidence to defend themselves. Often times, the bully hurts others as a way of protecting himself. He believes that if he attacks others, then they will not know he himself is hurting, or has been hurt in the past. It becomes a coping mechanism for him. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that bullying should not be responded to with more violence. They need to be shown love, but firm love. A love that says, “I love you enough to not let you continue down this path. Let me show you another way.” Then you are not only l protecting those that the bully hurts, but also you are protecting the bully himself in the long run.…

Every day, somewhere in the world, someone is getting bullied and it’s your choice whether or not to do something about it. Most people choose to stay out of harm’s way if they’re not the one getting bullied and few people choose to stand up for themselves if they are the one bullied. I believe that helping or asking for help is the only way to solve a bullying problem. The reason why people choose not to say anything is because they’re scared of what might happen. The “consequence” of telling on someone is what most people think about first, so why put yourself in a place where you don’t need to be right? If it’s not your problem then it’s not a problem to you at all? These thoughts are the reasons why bullying is never stopped.…

There are four types of bullying: physical bullying, verbal bullying, cyberbullying, and indirect bullying. Everyone deserves to have a fun time at school and spend time with your friends. Every high school student in America must navigate through difficult obstacles to procure a diploma. Most of these obstacles are obligatory such as testing and attendance; however, there is one tribulation that is not: bullying. Bullying can be defined in several ways. It is the rude stares in the hallway, inviting someone to the lunch table only to make fun of them, the belittling comments in the classroom, the manipulative manner of a boyfriend or girlfriend, and the “funny” tweets that condemn peers. Most people define bullying in such a cliché manner that the word loses its value; some even consider bullying as a rite of passage that students should have throughout their school years. The permanent psychological or physical disturbance that bullying victims face is enough to see that there is nothing impractical about degrading children at a time in such a substantial time in their lives.…

Aristotle once said, "The one thing no state or government can do, no matter how good it is, is to make its citizens morally virtuous." Laws made by the government can be made and enforced as much as they want, but that doesn’t mean the laws will be followed. This is perfectly exemplified but the anti-bullying laws. Just because these laws and rules are in place doesn’t mean the government can make people obey them. Anti-bullying laws have been put in place in order to try to put a stop to bullying, but they are not helping. Instead the problem of bullying has only escalated because of the efforts to enforce the laws.…

As I said, bullying can happen physically or mentally. Physically can be fighting pushing, slapping, punching and even throwing stuff at the victim. You can hurt them mentally by saying mean things, calling them names, writing bad things about them on paper or online, spreading rumors about them, and making fun of them. Sarah was a brand new student. She was beautiful. As soon as she stepped into the school, all the girls became enraged with jealousy. One night, she went home and turned on her phone to find a flood of messages from girls who went to her school. They were telling her to never return to school and that she was ugly. Even though Sarah was very strong and confident, as this continued each day, she started questioning herself and if living was even worth it. “Bullying happens online as cyberbullying or in person. It occurs in different ways like online, physical, or verbal (“Bullying”).” Bullying has grown a lot because of social media and targets many people who have differences like race, ethnicity, disabilities, and many more. Did you know that 1 in 4 teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene 4% of the time. Bullying is a pattern of aggressive behaviour meant to hurt or cause discomfort to another person. Bullies always have more power than victims. Their power comes from physical size, strength, status, and support within the peer group. There are 3 types of bullying. They are verbal, physical and social. Verbal bullying occurs when someone uses language to gain power over his or her peers. Physical bullying occurs when a person uses overt bodily acts to gain power over peers. Social bullying is deliberate, repetitive and aggressive social behavior intended to hurt others. Bullying for any types of reason is wrong.
