Hi Senedra, my thoughts go out to the man who is in so much debt because he chose to try Provenge (Stein, 2010). It is an ethical dilemma many Americans face. Healthcare expenses have increased immensely, and medications play a large role. Many older people have hundreds of dollars each month in medication bills. A fixed income does not allow for that expense and individuals will make the monthly prescription last longer by taking the medication every other day or stop taking it. As a nation we need to bring medication costs down. If individuals would have affordable medication, they would take it regularly and potentially prevent an adverse event or chronic disease from occurring. There was a simulated study in China that looked at low cost…

In this situation Joe Smith has put himself in an individual versus community ethical dilemma, which means that there is a conflict on what is best for when versus what is best for the company (Editorial Board, 2015). Joe should tell Bill Bateman that he cannot make a counter off without talking to his management team first. Since Joe is feeling the pressure to perform his job, which may incline him to counter that offer, he is also fearing cutbacks and layoffs due to the merger. Joe has to remember that he was reprimanded last year when he first signed the contract to Peninsula Hotel, so if he counters Threads4U offer then he might lose his job. In May 1968 soldiers of Charlie Company, 11th Infantry Brigade of the Americal Division entered the village of My Lai in Vietnam and within three hours over 500 civilians had been massacred. This horrible memory of the United States Army at war was again remembered in 2004 as the case of the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq exposed atrocities that continue to be an embarrassment for the military. The war in Iraq has also had a number of high profile cases that relate to ethical behavior, such as the court-martial for six reservists who had “scrounged” vehicles to deliver supplies to troops in the field and the scene of a Marine reacting to a perceived threat and subsequently killing an unarmed Iraqi prisoner in a mosque in Fallujah.…

As a counselor it is common to come across certain issues that make you question whether you are making the right decision or not. Many counselors have methods they use when they are faced with these challenges, but how does one decide which method is fit for them. Counselors must make sound ethical decisions but, often, determining the appropriate course to take when confronted with difficult ethical dilemmas can be a challenge (Forester-Miller &Davis 2001). Ethical decisions making plays a major role in the counseling profession, because the counselor becomes responsible for everything the client does ethically and legally.…
