My life begin when I was a mere 2 years of age when my parents adopted my twin sister and myself. My parents were on the older side, so their beliefs were conservative and strict, even from the beginning. Since my sister and I had been out of many foster homes until my parents adopted us, it was important that we had structure. There was always plenty of love and stability that I received and that is so important in the development in the early years. My parents were involved in every aspect of my childhood and that resulted in a sheltered and protective environment. It was hard to develop autonomy as a child and my own personality but my parents played such an important role in my development. I have developed such strong morals as an adult and that is attributed to my parents' role.…
My parents always seemed odd to me as a child. They were very wordy and overbearing. I always wanted them to just ‘stop ' with the explanations and reasons behind everything that they did. They always had a story, explanation or ditty to give you when they told you something that you did not know. Little did I know as a child that I was part of a limited group of people who were afforded such a luxury. The stories of struggle and choice. The stories of importance and the value behind the choice to become something and to do right was always a topic in our household. There is…
One kind of hero that exists all over the world is the everyday hero. The person that I consider my everyday hero is my mother. The qualities that make her my hero are her way of doing things, and also how she sacrifices herself for me. For example, she is responsible and shows her stronger side in front of us when we are facing difficult times. Also she is so lovely that almost everyone likes her when they meet her. She always says to me that her duties are to look after me but at the same time to give me the freedom to make mistakes and find bright sides of my mistakes. The way that she influences me is that I see that sometimes she leaves what she is doing for her to take care of me. Even though many people argue that heroes are not real, I will disagree with them because I believe that everybody has a hero who protects them and looks after them.…

Always parents are the first level of influence from childhood. From my parents I learned what is right and what is wrong in today's world. They taught me how to respect others and how to behave with others, never show your anger or try to hurt anybody. The way, they take care of us right from childhood till we become independent. That shows that you should be responsible enough to take care of your family and your younger brother's and sister's in the family. They teach us the value of the family.…
My parents had a different vision of what they wanted in life, their vision has shown me that you have to defend your principles regardless of how they are seen. I have lost contact with them due to the circumstances that they are in, I wish I could tell them how I really feel, how I am writing a college application to the best universities in California, how through experience I have learned to appreciate the actual community where I am present.…
My Dad always tells me to work hard and do good in school, because when he was young, he never went to school. I appreciate everything my parents do for me and what they risk for me.…
My father, a pharmaceutical representative, taught me to work hard at everything I do which has benefitted me throughout my academic career. If I ever hit a blockade and wanted to give up, he would always say, “You have to finish what you started.” During freshman year, I took Pre-AP Geometry which was a challenging course to me, and after my first test I thought I wasn’t going to pass the class. However, instead of giving up in the class and dropping out to an easier class, I worked harder and studied more. At the end of the year, I passed the class with an A. This work ethic has allowed me to succeed more than fail in life. My mother, a realtor, infused in me values and a curiosity of life. To refuse the easier explanation, and search for a deeper understanding. As a child, my parents constantly taught us lessons such as never leave dishes in the sink and always make your bed before you leave the house. These small lessons have impacted me and shaped me to be a responsible…

Another way they have impacted my growth is taking me on trips and experiencing new cultures. My parents have given me the skills to have a great self confidence. There’s not one particular person that I can pick who I have learned from the most I have learned lots from my entire family. Every member in my family has taught and supported me in some way during my life. Some examples of what I have learned from them is that education is very important to be able to succeed and accomplish my goals. Another thing that they have taught me is how to work through challenges in life and to never give up on anything that I believe in. With great role models like this they help me keep a positive attitude and learn lots in…
