General Guidelines
Essays should be a minimum of 500 words, typed. This length requirement is to give you a sense of the minimum level of detail expected in your writing. Essays should demonstrate that you understand the information well enough to explain your ideas in your own words and can give examples where appropriate. Plan to use course resources to complete the essays and to cite your sources using the MLA Format. In fact, as this is an essay exam, you should not use outside sources for this assignment.
You will be graded on the quality of your answer content, the clarity with which you present your ideas, and the accuracy of your citing and works cited page.
You may use the Learning Center as a resource for your writing; in fact, I encourage you to do so. Also, consider scheduling a conference with me to review rough drafts of your work- together we can talk about ways to improve your final draft.
Essays must be submitted through Blackboard. Late essays will be penalized 10 points for every day late (including weekends). Late work will not be accepted after one week has lapsed from the original due date.
Citing
Use the MLA Format for citations and the works cited page. Any and all forms of plagiarism (including failure to properly paraphrase your work) will result in a grade of zero for the assignment.

Did you include in-text citations as necessary?
Did you answer each component of the essay question?
Did you meet the minimum word requirement?
Did you comprehensively proofread your work and go to the Learning Center for help? Writing matters. The clarity of your ideas depends upon the clarity of your writing. Last but not least, remember that fluff is fluff.
