What I have lived for
Looking back on my life, there is a question wandering in my mind---what I have lived for. After a long time of contemplating, I find that I have been engaged in three missions in my whole life: overcoming difficulties, cultivating diligence and pursuing happiness. These three missions have made my life meaningful and wonderful.
First, I have never surrendered to the difficulties in my life. I know that if I want light, I must conquer darkness. So I fought with all the difficulties in studying, working and making a living. Though I was afraid of water, I still learned swimming and became a good swimmer. Though I was fired twice, I didn’t lose passion in working. No matter how terrible the situation was, I never gave up. In the process of overcoming difficulties, I was becoming braver and more optimistic.
Besides fighting with difficulties, I’ve also cultivated lots of diligence. Some people said “diligence can sometimes equal genius in its results”. I was very clear that I wasn’t a genius so I paid lots of attention to cultivating diligence. When I was young, I got up earlier every day to read more books and through this, I made myself one of the best students in school. Similarly, when I was older, I was very diligent in working. I often worked overtime and as a result of my hardworking, I was promoted time and time again. In the process of cultivating diligence, I was feeling much fulfilled.
Additionally, I have never stopped pursuing happiness. I tried my best to make not only myself, but also my family members happy. In order to make myself happy, I did the job I liked, married the person I loved and travelled to places I enjoyed. In order to make my family members happy, I tried my best to be a good daughter, a good wife and a good mother. Fortunately, from their happy smiles, I knew that I had possessed my happiness.
