What Role Do Political Parties Play In Political Socialization?
A political party is a formal organization that has a political agenda and seeks a voice and power (Class notes 26/11). Typically these parties are the most important instruments for political mobilization when it comes to mass politics (Class notes 26/11). Political parties are required to mobilize and control citizens by various means. These include ideology, patronage and repression among others (Class notes 26/11).
