What Is The Theme Of Equality In Ayn Rand's Anthem
Ayn Rand starts her book, Anthem, by writing “It is a sin to write this”(pg.1) She states that “It's a sin to think of words no others think and to put them down upon paper no others are to see”.(pg.1) However Equality 7-2521 thinks otherwise; He has a different moral assessment of his work. Equality 7-2521 is like no other he, is his own person, likes to explore beyond what is known, and he is confident in doing what is best for the people of his community. Equality is a great and wise person in my view and I am convinced that his assessment of his sin(s) are correct, and if or when you read the book I believe that you will be too. Within the community that Equality lives almost anything you do that is different is a sin, The community does not forgive very easy either.In His mind though” The unforgivable sin is the assumption of certainty and the moral high ground.”( R. He has is own view among the way they live, everyone sees things in black in white while Equality sees with extraordinary colors. The way live is not exciting at all they do the same routine everyday for their whole life. Equality started to get bored and very much disliked their routine; but the change he wanted would come to him the day he found something amazing. well it may not seem amazing to us but in condition it was pretty exciting to him. One day while out exploring Equality and his best friend International stubbled upon a whole. The most exciting part about this particular whole was that no one knew about it but the two of them, but Just stumbling upon this whole was a sin in itself and now to keep it a secret from their people was a sin beyond most. Equality did not care about committing this sin. All he wanted was a way to believe that he was different and wasn't like everyone else and now within having this secret he
