What Is The Fennec Fox
Or also known as the Fennec Fox, this fox can be known to be very small. Not only does the Fennec Fox have a small structure and pale coat, but its long slender ears are used for hearing their prey scurry around at night. The species lives in Asia or North Africa and they also have thick fur under their paws to protect them from hot sand. Its coat is the same shade of the sand to help it blend in to its surroundings in its ecosystem. The Fennec Fox is also nocturnal, and eats lower prey such as small mammals because it is a predator.

Fun Fact: Fennec Foxes can be pets, but can get lonely so you need at least two of them since they are so social.

After a long day of swimming the otter would roll on the ground or rub on a log to dry themselves. The Oriental Small Clawed Otter can last up to 6-8 minutes under water, so hunting for food is easy. Their forefeet are helpful because they use them to capture their food and “Their hind feet says wildlife explorer states, “Are used for swimming.” “Their eyes stay shut for 40 days after birth,” states the wildlife explorer. According to the wildlife explorer, “Their number of young is 1-6 but usually 1-2.” One of the most interesting facts is that if several otters are swimming in one straight line with their backs out of the water their backs can be mistaken for the humps of a sea monster. Its genus and species is “Aonyx Cinera” that is also the species for the African Otter. Although they are the same species the African otter is much bigger, and weighs up to 75lb and just like the Oriental Small Clawed Otter and the Asian Otter they all have white markings on their faces, chests and throat. The Oriental Small Clawed Otter is one otter that loves to swim and definitely loves to snack on…

They have plenty of time at night to go and find things they like to eat. Insects can be easy to find considering that they can search small crevasses under rocks. They find and grab insects like cockroaches, ants, and beetles in their paws. The chinchilla also has its own predators. To combat these predators it has some unique defense techniques. One of these is to release the fur where the attacker has latched onto the chinchilla. Since the fur is quite dense it could stop a bite, but the hair detaches so the chinchilla can escape. The chinchilla can also bite when threatened. It is a very compassionate animal when it is domesticated; they cuddle and loves to be cuddled. Chinchillas first came to America in the 1920’s. Thirteen of them were brought to America by a Chilean scientist to help the protection plan. A chinchilla loves to have a companion, if they do not it may become mentally ill due to loneliness. They adapt to their human companion’s schedule even though they themselves are nocturnal. When living domestically chinchillas can live for twenty years and sometimes more. At the beginning of these twenty years, a chinchilla is born in a litter of one to eight kits, which are baby chinchillas. Born fully furred these kits are very affectionate and lovable. Kits drink milk until four weeks old. At four weeks, they can consume hay and other solids while still drinking milk from its mother. At…
