What Is The Difference Between The Democratic Party And Democratic-Republican Parties
The United States is recognized for two major political parties which are known as the Republican and Democratic parties. These two parties are completely different with different stance. These parties compete to promote their political ideals to maintain their continuous political leadership. Even though having political parties was not set in the constitution, it plays a big role in our politics and controversial issues. The Democratic-republican party didn't take power till the 1800 with the help of Madison and Jefferson.Making political parties was a great idea from these great man, it gave the public to be represented in their preference. “Those who hold, and those who are without property, have ever formed distinct interests in society. This political party began when Jefferson founded the Democratic-Republicans in 1792. Most of the times Democrats are referred as "the Party of the People," which attract immigrants, blue-collar workers, women, and minorities. Democrats tend to take a more liberal stand on important issues. Unlike the Republicans they believe that the government should be more involved in people's lives. Democrats are the opposite of republicans. When it comes to abortion democrats are Pro-choice and they support the Roe v. Wade. As for Gay marriage they believe that they should have equal rights and have the freedom on whom they choose to marry. Lastly the biggest controversial issue immigration, they believed be that they should grant citizenship to anyone with no criminal record that has been here for at least 5 years.
