Derek Vinyard, played by Edward Norton is a former Neo-Nazi skinhead who is trying to save his younger brother Danny Vinyard from making the same mistakes he did . The day Derek gets out of prison Danny is sitting at the kitchen table with a local D.O.C member Seth who is videotaping him while asking him what he learned while doing his report on Adolf Hitler. Danny responses by saying" I hate anyone who is not white protestant, they are a burden to the white race, but some of them are alright" (Kayne, 1998). Seth then reinforces what he has been taught by saying" Remember what cam said? we don't know them and don't' want to know them, they are the fucking enemy." (Kayne, 1998) This was to persuade Danny into their beliefs as he was not completely convinced that all people of a different race are bad.
