What Is Personal Cultural Identity
Growing up, I did not always realize my family was there. Being the self-centered child I was, I did not realize the presence and support I had throughout all my accomplishments. Learning to ride a bike, earning, straight A’s, hitting my first home run: they were the ones that made those dreams of mine a reality. Once one understands that relationships make up your true accomplishments, they begin to see how important they really are. Cultural identity is very important to the individual, but it actually is not personal. Personal culture is built off the experiences you have with people that truly matter to you.
