What Is Hamlet's Loyalty To Her Husband
Hamlet tells Horatio that the leftover food from the funeral (“the funeral baked meats”) also supplied the wedding (“Did coldly furnish forth the marriage table”), and how he’d rather meet his most dreaded enemy than witness such a hasty celebration. Hamlet continues to feel uneasy about the wedding’s timing, and eventually even comments on her shoes. Noting that the shoes she wore to her husband’s funeral had not been worn out before her marriage with Hamlet’s Uncle, Claudius despite acting as though she could only ever be truly devoted to Hamlet’s father.
