What Is Blob Fish
The Psychrolutes marcidus also known as the blobfish lives in the deep waters of Australia and Tasmania, as well as some of the waters of New Zealand. The blobfish also survives in the Sunlit Ocean Zone which gets light underwater. The temperature in this zone ranges from -3 to 40 degrees celsius. This type of fish can be found in the waters as deep as 100 meters to 2800 meters. The pressure is 60 to 120 times greater than at sea level. The blobfish's skin is mostly a gelatinous mass with a density less than water. This is one of their many important adaptations.
