What Is Audrey Hepburn's Writing Style
Audrey Hepburn once said, “Why change? Everyone has his own style. When you have found it, you should stick to it.” Audrey Hepburn was able to see that each person in this world is different from the rest. Everyone has a unique style, especially in writing. Hemingway is known to constantly use very short sentences whereas Faulkner is known for his consistently long sentences. Each person has his or her own style of writing and my writing style is different from everyone else’s. In my paper “The Will God,” through my style of varying sentence length, varying sentence beginnings, repetition and writing in an active voice, I was able to achieve my intention of successfully planning my long-range goals while keeping the paper interesting. In order to effectively explain my long-range goals in life, I needed to keep the paper interesting and one way I was able to do this was by varying the length of my sentences. Throughout the paper I was able to write a long sentence which was followed by a short sentence or have a few medium sized sentences followed by a long sentence. By writing in an active voice I got my point across clearly and effectively and created interest in the process. Those who write in a passive tone have a harder time of creating interest. In the paper there was a small amount of repetition of the fact that I wanted to become a “teacher or counselor” in order to “use my talents and gifts to bless those around me” and through this repetition I emphasized the major points of the essay. I was able to create enough emphasis without becoming redundant or too repetitive. The amount of repetition and the active voice that was portrayed throughout my paper helped in the purpose of explaining the long-range goals that I had
