What Is Atticus Finch's Diary
I am just about to arrive at the Finch house. Atticus seemed very distressed over the phone when he had rang me up. I was weary of what to expect upon my arrival. When I had pulled up in the driveway, I had seen Dr. Reynolds explaining to the family about Jem’s conditions. It has seem that he had been attacked. Scout was involved as well. Jem had a bump on his head and a broken arm. Scout seemed to be in good condition disregarding her own bump. Upon my investigation, I had found different pieces of cloth and a man. It was Mr. Ewell himself. He had fallen onto his own kitchen knife which is now lodged in his ribcage. He is dead. I am not proud of it, but it reassures me because I now know that the children are safe. I feel as it is time to tell Atticus of my discoveries.

“Sit down Mr. FInch… I found Scout’s dress, , some funny pieces of muddy cloth.”He paused. “And I found Bob Ewell on the ground - he’s dead, Mr Finch.”
“He won’t hurt these children again,”

Mr. Atticus had seemed very troubled by the news and decided to turn to Scout. Interrogating her to relive the events in the woods. Her story has some truths, but a child her age cannot possibly know everything behind the attack. Atticus

Yet, in addition to his anti-sociality, people do not understand his reasons to stay indoors. Especially Dill, Scout, and Jem. He is to be left alone and no women or child is to disrupt his peace. He has done the Finch’s a favor, the least they can do is give him peace. Bob Ewell’s death is to labeled an accident, which it was, and the savior will remain a mystery to the public. It was obvious that Atticus and the kids were grateful for their lives. Boo’s bravery will be cherished in

Robert Ewell went to the witness stand but was disgruntled whenever a question was asked that he couldn't understand. Mr. Ewell described the night that Tom Robinson allegedly raped Mayella; “The night of November twenty-one I was comin’ in from the woods with a load o’kindlin and just as I got to the fence I heard Mayella screamin’ like a struck hog inside the house.” He goes on to say that he ran all the way home and he saw that “black Nigger” on his daughter. This caused excitement among the crowd of both colored and whites. Mr. Ewell went on to say that the room Mayella was rapped in looked like a reck, and after he saw Tom he ran to the house but was too late to catch him. He then explained that his next move was to run down and get the sheriff because he knew it was Tom Robinson. Mr. Finch asked if during all this running he was doing if he ran to go get a doctor, Mr. Ewell said no. The last questions for Mr. Ewell were very eye-opening questions asked by Mr. Finch. He first asked if Mr. Ewell agreed with everything the sheriff had said, after bewilderment from Mr. Ewell, he agreed with Sheriff Tate's testimony. Next, Mr. Finch asked Mr. Ewell if he could read and write his name, he said yes, and then Atticus asked him to show the Jury. After he proved he could write his name, Judge Taylor said“You’re left handed, Mr. Ewell”After this he sat down next to Mr.…

Readers can analyze that throughout the chapter, Radley tries to communicate with the kids and is a generous character as shown in chapter 7 and 8 where he left little gifts in the knothole and he ¨put the blanket around¨ (72) Scoutś shpulders. This demonstrates that Boo Radley does not have bad intentions and attempt to have contact with the outside world. Also, he possess a positive characteristic not many in Maycomb have. In addition, when Bob Ewell attacked the kids out of hatred towards Atticus, Boo saved them by stabbing ¨a kitchen knife up under [Ewell´s] ribs¨ (266). Although he did Maycomb a favor--most of Maycomb residents never liked the Ewells as they were considered ¨white trash¨--it was to be a sin to put him into the limelight as he is shy. Therefore, like a mockingbird, Heck Tate and Atticus did what they can to keep him from publicity and exposure that can end negatively. In short, Boo Radley receive nothing in return, but numerous of people in the novel were surely appreciative of his valiant…

He is also misrepresented by the town, they never see much of him because his father locked him away because he thought Boo brought shame and failure to the family, without ever seeing Boo the townspeople try to make assumptions about his appearance, they were usually really bad. Boo spends most of his time in the house during the day, but at night he goes around town. But besides all the negative things about him he has a nicer side, one night Jem and Scout we were walking to a costume party and Bob Ewell was following them and was up to no good. He planned to murder the finches in woods, but they started to run and Boo came out and saw them running and turned the knife back on Bob Ewell and killed him. Lived in this town all my life an‘ I’m goin’ on forty-three years old. Know everything that’s happened here since before I was born. There’s a black boy dead for no reason, and the man responsible for it’s dead. Let the dead bury the dead this time, Mr. Finch. Boo is misread because of his teenage actions that were years ago. Maybe Boo did some questionable things in the past, but everyone has actions that frowned upon. Macomb is a very judgmental town and Boo has been labeled as a threat to society. Rumors are spread around about Boo which symbolizes the innocence killed by society (Marshall 1). Mockingbirds are innocent creatures, but because of the rumors about them, people tend to kill them because they find them as a threat. Similar to the bird, Boo is misjudged by people who do not know the truth. Boo is innocent and like a mockingbird, he does not want that to be ruined so he stays inside because it is the only way to have that sort of feeling. Later in the book, Jem tells Scout that he thinks that Boo stays in his house because Boo knows that if he was to be seen in public he would be judged by Maycomb citizens (Lee 227). Like a mockingbird, Boo’s innocence has been crushed by society. People are too scared to accept what is right so they keep lying to themselves to feel better. As seen as a innocent, loving mockingbird by readers, Boo is misjudged and people are scared that he will harm them which symbolizes that innocent is crushed when you “kill a mockingbird.” Another way Boo resembles a mockingbird is by the way he “sings his tune” by giving the kids of Maycomb gifts showing his joyful…

Just before they fall asleep, Scout asks Dill why Boo Radley has never run off, and Dill answers that maybe he doesn't have a place he can run to. Atticus goes outside, while Jem, Dill, and Scout peer through the windows, to Aunt Alexandra's dismay. Mr. Link Deas says that Atticus has everything to lose from this case, and Atticus answers, "Do you really think so?" (16.21), which Scout recognizes as his "Dangerous question"(16.22), meaning that he's not going to take being messed with. Jem breaks the tension by shouting out that the telephone's ringing and Atticus tells him to answer it, causing the men - whom Scout now recognizes as people she sees every day - to go off laughing. Atticus tells Scout that Tom Robinson has arrived at the Maycomb jail, and that they should have kept him there in the first place. One man tells Atticus to move away from the door and let them through, but Atticus tells them to go home and that Heck Tate's nearby. The event of Bob Ewell’s death reflects on how subjugation created from racism leads into tragedy. “Bob Ewell’s lyin’ on the ground under that tree down yonder with a kitchen knife stuck up under his ribs. He’s dead Mr. Finch.” (Lee, 359) Bob Ewell’s tragic fate was a direct result of his racist actions, as he was killed while trying to murder Atticus’s children for siding with the African Americans. His fate could have been avoided if he did not choose to falsely accuse Tom Robinson in the first place. Therefore Bob Ewell’s death is a clear example of how racism leads to tragedy.…

When Mr. Heck Tate and Mr. Finch arrived, they decided to wait until they had a good shot at the dog to shoot. Mr. Heck Tate said if he would’ve shot, he would have missed and shot into the Radley house. He handed the gun to Mr. Finch, once known as One Shot Finch, and told him to take the shot. Mr. Finch hit the mad dog on the first shot, re…
