What Do You Want to Be
What do you want to be when you grow up? What are your plans for your future? Have you thought about college? Have you thought about a career choice? These are questions we are bombarded with on a daily basis by our parents. We shrug them off, telling them that we have another three years to think about college, careers, or our future. We don't know what we want to be when we grow up, because we don't even know who we are yet. Yet in a blink of an eye, we're seniors and now the decisions we tried to blow off making three years earlier, are back but this time we need to make a decision. This time the future is right around the corner, and it's scary to make a decision that will define us for the rest of our lives. This is who we are, who we will become. The career path I have picked is to be an author, a teen author to be specific. An author who will write about real things, based on my teen years, and friends of mine. I would write about real issues, with a solution that can help another teen, in a similar situation. Becuase I know who I am, yet three years ago I didn't. And there was no one around to help me figure it out, so I turned to reading and writing. But I couldn't understand why every teen book included a love struck teen girl and a rebellious boy and even some vampires every now and then. I grew confused, wondering if that's how everyone's highschool life was, or maybe it was just popular people. But I grew up and I realzied everyone's life will not be a high school love story with a happy ending. There will be tears, and heartbreaks, and depression, and love. It won't be all rainbows and unicorns and sparkling vampires who sweep you off your feet. It'll be bad decisions and lousy test scores, and then there will be straight A's, but a fight with your ex best friend bcause she's dating your ex boyfriend, and you know they'll never last, but she wont listen to you. I want to help people, teens, discover who they are, and lead them to a passion that runs
