The top three best cell phone companies are Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, and Sprint Wireless. Their plans are similar in a lot of ways, but there are certain features that each one has that make them different from the rest. In order to find out which company has better service is to research each one of their plans and pick which company is more appealing to you. Some of the features that all three companies has like the night and weekend plans, text options, free phone with a contract signing, and the list goes on. With so many things the same, what set these three apart from each other. Is it the coverage service something else?
When I first started researching this topic I realized that all three companies has a lot of the same features in their plans like unlimited nights and weekend, the texting option, and the usual things that most cell companies has, but I wanted to find out what set them apart. Like for example “Sprint Wireless nights, and weekend starts at 7p.m, but it will cost you an extra 5 dollars a month to move your time up to 6p.m instead. AT&T Wireless time starts at 9p.m nightly, but for an extra 9 dollars a month you can start talking free at 7p.m., and Verizon Wireless time starts at 9p.m with no option to start early.” So it depends if you want to start talking one, two, or no hours early which plan you might be favoring. With AT&T Wireless you can use its service all over the country, but if you are traveling in the Northwest it is likely that you might lose service or get bad reception to the least of your worries. Verizon Wireless 4G coverage picks up in 486 United States cities so that means you can practically can use your phone anywhere from coast to coast. They also use 3G coverage to reach some of the smaller cities. They deal in phone brands from Apple to Samsung. Verizon Wireless is also known for having the most dropped calls. But

The key players in the wireless industry are Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. With these four companies controlling 90% of the market, there are no other ‘key players’ in the industry. U.S. Cellular is not quite a ‘key player’, however they do hold approximately 2.4% of the customer nationwide and must be in the overall picture. In addition, the data suggests that the pool of potential people that would get a cell phone is almost entirely saturated so it does not look as if there is any room for additional competition.…

Hello Mariah, Great post this week describing low-cost provider strategy, broad differentiation strategy and focused low-cost strategy. I enjoyed reading your discussion comparing Verizon and AT&T services. I remember about 10 years ago or maybe longer when AT&T came out with U-verse service and I absolutely loved the feature of watching your recorded shows on any TV. I have Verizon service through my work and they do have the good coverage nationwide compared to Sprint. My wife has Sprint and many areas including in the Kitchen she gets drop calls or no signals and she will use my phone for texting/phone calls. There is one thing I like about Sprint is unlimited data plan at a reasonable price with no hidden fees. I agree with you that…

For years, AT&T has had an absolute advantage over Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile with the iPhone, thanks to an exclusive contract with Apple, who is expected to sell 40 million iPhones worldwide this year. This absolute advantage has led to AT&T’s growth in recent years, making them one of the largest mobile network providers in the United States, second to Verizon Wireless. This growth, however, has slowed in recent years, as most AT&T customers who wanted the iPhone has bought them. People who have wanted an iPhone, but did not want to sign with AT&T, have purchased their iPhones thru AT&T without a contract, or through secondary markets such as eBay, and have “jailbroken” or hacked their iPhones to work outside of AT&T’s network. This results in the user not maintaining the full functionality of the iPhone itself. They have an iPhone, and they can use it on Sprint or T-Mobile, but they cannot use all of the features of the iPhone. With the iPhone coming to Verizon Wireless, this appears to no longer be the case.…
