What Are The Similarities Between Ancient Greece And Rome
The Middle East powerhouses, Greece and Rome, those two name comes to mind when the words “great empires” are mentioned. Theories and devices, those are the two things they are most commonly known for. The empires were greatly influenced by each other, which spread their way of living around the globe. Many ideas from the Greeks were stolen by the Romans, but they made their own version of female power, religion, and entertainment. Greek and Roman civilizations role was not the same, especially for the woman. Education was very important, but women were still limited in learning and participating. In Ancient Rome, the power belonged to the father, the head of the household. The mother was not forgotten, for they have the responsibility of cleaning the household, cooking food, entertaining guests, and managing family. A woman could even own property and had political influences. However, the same story did not happen to women who lived in Ancient Greece, because they can not choose their marriage, way more inferior to men and supposed to be their home background. To take control of the household, the slaves, and the children were the Greek woman’s duty. Unlike women rights differential, a very similar polytheistic religion is what the Roman and the Greek both had. Both …show more content…
But one thing that what we do know is they have a very different culture despite Roman copied Greek civilization. Women freedoms are like hell and heaven in Rome and Greece. Even though they both have similar god and goddess, their name and beliefs system are still different. But the biggest difference between them all is how one empire entertainment contains just sports like our modern day. On the other hand is blood bath and glory for entertainment. As times pass on, culture will evolve. The two Ancient Titans will eventually wither away as their new civilizations grow just like
