What Are The Consequences Of The Treaty Of Versailles
World War I was one of the most important wars in history. In 1889 nations started to get more competitive, also known as nationalism. People who spoke different languages and lived in the same place, made others feel as if they should all have a different or separate national government. People should all speak the same language. In 1815, the congress of Vienna put an effort into giving Europe's rulers what they wanted instead of giving the people what they wanted or deserved. The congress of Vienna separated the people that had the same nationality and put them in other countries to try and bring them together. Doing this made other nations unhappy. Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Austria claimed their own independence. Poland was created out of Austrian, German, and Russian territory. Yugoslavia was created from portions of Hungary, Bulgaria, and Montenegro. The ending of the war created many treaties. The allies entered treaties with different areas of Europe. All the treaties combined were called the Peace of Paris. The treaty of Versailles is the most well known and was hard on Germany. The allies felt Germany was responsible for World War One. The treaty of Versailles limited Germany's ability to have a standing army and navy, also to manufacture war goods. These treaties led to the development of the league of nations which was formed to enforce all treaties.
