What Are My Long Term Goals
I have three personal long term SMART goals that I am working on to improve myself professionally and develop my leadership skills. My very first goal is to complete school and get my Master’s degree. I have been using all my free time to study and weekends to work on quizzes. This is achievable by continuing my studies at Western Governors University. With a Masters I will be able to move up within my company or any other company into a management position. I did change my degree plan, so now my graduation date has been set back by a year and I will be graduation in 2018. My second long term goal is to completed my VMWare certifications. I would like to be certified in the data center virtualization certification and have been reviewing videos and free labs provided by VMWare learning about their product. This is very achievable because of the free labs that are available along with the fact that I use the product on a daily basis. It is relevant to my goals because it is a product that many companies are using for their infrastructure. My plan is to be certified by the beginning of 2017. My third goal is to retire by the age of 50. For the past 20 years I have been aggressively saving money in a 401k, and for the last 7 years I have been …show more content…
I was offered the position after a few interviews and accepted the offer. Landing this position allows me to work from home and not spend as much in commuting to work. My last day at my current position ends next week. My second short-term goal is to learn how to configure VSAN devices. I have been taking a few free online classes and watched multiple YouTube videos to learn the skills. It is very achievable because the task isn’t very different from the SAN devices I already support and have supported in the past. It’s relevant because I will need this skill with my new position. I have to know how to do this completely by 2
