George Washington is the best president in United States history. The importance of time and place is found most in who gets to create history. Many intelligent men were involved in the creation of the United States. Washington presided over them earning the title “Father of his Country”. Many great presidents have came after him, but along with his fortunate place in history, his accomplishments and character send him to the top to be recognized as the best president the United States has ever had. “It's being in the right place at the right time and taking advantage of your opportunities,” is a quote by Lee Major. No other presidents accomplishments can compare to the fact he was the greatest founder of the United Sates. The most noteworthy accomplishment is that he was the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. Though no major and glorious battles were won, knowing full well the colonies were at a disadvantage, he strategically waited out the war making it to cost effective for Britain to continue while also eventually gaining Frances aid. He was then unanimously voted the first president of the United States. He himself decided that the title would be called “Mr. President”. After his first term, he was elected again unanimisouly. This makes him the only President in history to be unanimously voted for two terms. During his first term, Washington joined the states together to create a federal government. With his easily available power, he chose not to interfere with Congresses policy-making powers. He did intervene though when it came to foreign relations and wars in Europe. While others around him debated over whether to join sides with either the British or French, his ability to be the mediator settled the dispute and kept the growing, fragile country neutral. …show more content…
It’s George Washington’s character, what he valued, and he is unarguably the best president to hold the United States in his best interest. It’s not just what he did for his country, but the reasoning behind it. He is rightfully known as the Cincinnatus of America (Cincinnatus was a Roman general who defeated his enemies and immediately gave up power instead of becoming king) because he put the United States before himself. This is shown in the fact that he could have served for life with great power, but chose not to. He wanted to see the United States develop correctly, and that could not be done with just one man ruling as king. These decisions show the mind set of a true patriot. At the end of his second term though, he revealed one of the most important documents in the United States. George Washington’s Farewell Address was written because he wanted to warn the people of the United States of various outcomes and what he envisioned the future should behold in its most basic form. The purpose for writing his Farewell Address is to remind the United States to moderate political parties, be suspicious of foreign influence, and be wary of false patriotism. He then explains his action by the principles he lays out throughout the address. He closes on the fact he is excited to join his fellow Americans as a private citizen in this newly founded free government that they have created together.

Aside being the first President of our great nation, he was an Entrepreneur he worked as an Architect, a whiskey maker, a spymaster, and a farmer an Englishman once referred to him as the “Foremost Farmer” of America. He also enjoyed dancing and theater as well as fox hunting and fishing. I also found that he helped to promote the use of mules in the United States. Mules have made many peoples jobs a lot easier. In conclusion Not only did he lead the Continental Army to victory over the British thus ending the war, but he believed in a strong federal government, and helped establish the “Free” world we live in today. Without Washington we just may not be able to enjoy our “Rights of Freedom” as we do today. Our country still follows in some of the huge (size 13 huge!) foot prints that Washington left, such as the 22nd Amendments of our U.S Constitution limiting the Presidents time in office to two terms. I personally think George Washington was a wonderful man and I believe he played a huge role in the birth and survival of the United…

I believe that George Washington, our very first President, had the biggest of successes. He had to figure out how to run a country. He had no one to look up to. He did everything on his own. Being the first, and not having experience, I think he didn't do that bad of a job. Another one of Washington's successes was that he led the Continental Army. He led the army into victory. Winning a war is a major success. Not only did Washington participate in the war, he led the army who fought and won the war. Washington also faced failures. He had a problem with the Indian tribes in the US. The British began to supply the Indians with arms and ammunition to attack the US settlers. Another failure of Washington was that he always seemed to side more with Hamilton. Not many people liked that idea. Washington also had slaves. Many people disagreed with the idea of slaves but Washington still had them, as our President.…

Presidential Evaluation- George Washington was a president of the highest measures. He set up the office of the president almost single-handedly and had to settle disgruntled farmers in western Pennsylvania that were specters of the original Revolutionaries. He also had to juggle both the British and French harassments and also choose to not support the new French government in their war against Britain. That choice was unpopular among many of the American people but he kept to his decision because he wanted to make sure that his new nation would continue to exist and hold its own against any foreign power in the future. To rate George Washington is an extremely difficult thing to do. The man set the guidelines of the presidency and was always looking out for the good of the government and the people. I will rate him 10/10 because he is the guideline for all the other presidents to compare…

my research paper is on president George Washington and why I name him as the best US president. I believe that George Washington was the best US president because of how he united the nation and lead America into war against the British and the tactics he used in the war against the British. my first reason for my opinion is the different tactics Washington used in the war with the British and how they were implemented. when Washington was in lead as the commander of the American Army he utilized guerilla warfare that was used by some of the pioneers on the frontier. By using this kind of warfare the colonists were given a leg up in the war.…
