Christopher Columbus, an Italian explorer who is considered to be the founder of North America, was not the first person to travel to the Americas. Columbus goal was to find an efficient route to India for the spice trade. He had three main goal which was to achieve an economic advantage, spread christianity and to claim glory. All of this was for his own personal again which led to him almost wiping out the natives who resided in the Caribbean.
