The welfare state faces many challenges in the Britain today. Challenges, for instance, poverty, and crimes. The conservative spokesman, Robert Huntingdon said that “The welfare state is the ill fare state, condemning its clients to hereditary poverty unemployment, crime, and demoralization.” One of the reasons that the welfare state condemning its client to hereditary poverty is that the current government is making substantial cuts in the welfare system. As a result, it makes it harder for people who lives in poverty or has other illness to live a normal life compared to other people, because they need to live off the benefits.
