Thesis statement: While parents are teaching their child the basic life skills, celebrities are teaching kids the exact opposite.

Introduction

• I. Each influences values about money and success.

A. Supporting details
1. Parents influences their children to work hard and earn their money the right way.
2. Parents influences their children to finish high school and get a great education to be successful.
B. Supporting details
1. Celebrities influences makes children think money comes easy.
2. Celebrities influences makes adolescents think success is just materialistic things.
II. Each influences can be negative influences.
A. Supporting details
1. Some parental influence can be negative when parents have bad habits such as: violence, bad language and drunks and alcohol.
2. Some parents drop out of school and don’t set standards for their children.
B. Supporting details
1. Celebrities tend to be in the media doing negative things such as receiving DUI’s and getting charges.
2. Celebrities often tend to sag, curse, and be gang related and teens try to imitate them.
III.
A. Each influences can be positive

1. Parental influences will be positive because most good parents work and teach their child/children how to work and be successful.
2. Parents love their children and teach them right from wrong.
B. Supporting details
1. Some celebrities try to influence kids to stay in school to be the best they can be.
2. Some celebrities give back to their communities and encourage the kids to stay out the streets.

Conclusion
Overall celebrities influence and parental influence can be both bad and good. But most of celebrities influence on teens and adolescents are not good because they are very gullible at this time in their life. The only influence they should have is parental influence because their parents wouldn’t steer them in the wrong directions.

    Although celebrities have a negative wrap from media, their influence does have potential for good. Studies from the UK have shown the influence on youths public opinion from celebrities’ endorsements (good or bad). The study also recognized the fame of the celebrity also played a factor.
