WEATHER PROJECT: PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY

10-16-13

Introduction
Over the past four weeks I was assigned to observe and record current weather data and highlight the trends that could be seen. In order to do this I used an atomic weather center for the majority of my data. However I did correlate my findings with websites such as www.wunderground.com , and www.weather.com. I did also sometimes use weather instruments that were provided to me such as a compass, an instrument containing a magnetized pointer that shows the direction of magnetic north and bearings from it, and a wind meter, a device used for measuring wind speed. All of my recordings were taken from my home in Cheyenne, WY. There were variations at times from my recorded data and what was recorded by these other sources, but that can be explained by many different situations. Some of the variations in wind speed for example could have been that my house was blocking more wind than in other areas it was recorded or that the temperature differences could have simply been due to the amount of sunlight my trees did or did not block from my weather station location at the time I recorded my data. Regardless of these little technicalities there are significant trends that can be seen with my data, my hope is that I can share these findings in a clear and insightful manner.
