In the current century, pollution is one of the most complex consequences in the world. What pollution is, and how it is produced are two the most popular questions which will be answered briefly in this essay. With urbanization, pollution has become a major public concern over the years because it defiles the natural ecosystems and Influences on human health. Pollution has various categories, but there is one concept, which covers all types. Gleick elucidated which definite natural phenomenon causing decline in the quality of water, air and soil. Environmental pollution is the accumulation and doping of toxic levels of chemicals in the natural ecosystems, which detracts the capability of the influenced region to support life (2001, pp. 1). In addition to the stated meanings, pollution is categorised into several groups.
First one is Air pollution which means all particulates, dust and smoke are results of man-made and anthropogenic emissions into the air can be nominated air contamination, because with their entry into the atmosphere and reaction with water, the chemical compositions of the natural atmosphere are mutated. The increase of greenhouse gases (inclusive carbon monoxide(CO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2), chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and nitrogen oxides(NO2)) is the best exemplification in this case (Daly and Zannetti 2007, paras. 3-4-5). The next one is Water pollution that happens when contaminants which can be dissolved or physically mixed or soaked (United States environmental protection agency 2011) come into the water. For instance, wastewater is one of the most significant pollutants contaminates the natural aquatic ecosystems which can be as a result of domestic (washing water, laundry wastes) or industrial (food preparation factory wastes) activities. In the third place, there is Soil contamination which is divided into solid and perilous liquid substances that mingled with the naturally happening soil and sediment.
