The Walking Dead is an American horror drama television series developed by Frank Darabont. It is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The series stars Andrew Lincoln as sheriff's deputy[2] Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma to find a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating "walkers", resembling zombies. He sets out to find his family and encounters many other survivors along the way. The eponymous title of the series refers to the survivors, and not the zombies.[3] The Walking Dead premiered on October 31, 2010, on the cable television channel AMC in the United States.[4] It premiered internationally during the first week of November 2010 on Fox International Channels.[5] Based on its reception, AMC renewed the series for a second season of 13 episodes, which premiered on October 16, 2011.[6][7] Two episodes into the second season, AMC announced that the show would return for a third season of 16 episodes, which began airing on October 14, 2012.[8] On December 21, 2012, AMC renewed The Walking Dead for a fourth season of 16 episodes.[9] The series has been well received[10][11] and has received many award nominations including ones for the Writers Guild of America Award[12] and a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series (Drama).[13] The series has also attained strong Nielsen ratings, surpassing various records for a cable series, including receiving 12.4 million viewers for its season three finale to become the most-watched drama series telecast in basic cable

This show is now up to its sixth season. It basically all about a man named Rick Grimes trying to lead a group of survivors in a world of zombies. The show was first aired on Oct 31st of 2010.It amazes me how the zombies are just now falling apart and dying as soon as they hit a wall hard enough. Makes you wonder why they haven’t all died off already it’s been about 1-2 years the bodies should of decomposed. Or at least looking deader besides looking like they just turned a week or two ago. Here is an overview of season 1. In the first episode you see a man running around in a hospital trying to find an escape from what ever was making him scared and panicked, a couple seconds later you see what it was he was running away from which was about 3-4 zombies at a steady pace following him. The guy then runs into a room and you see another person on a bed looking alright he tries to get his friend up but there was no response. As he was still in a coma, he reluctantly leaves his friend behind and barricades the room up so if he did ever wake up hopefully he would be safe from the zombies lurking about. The guy on the bed wakes up very confused to where he is and what was happening he explores around even more confused now since the whole place is deserted he comes up to this door that says “don’t open, dead inside” he looks at it a bit more then walks off as soon as he walks off you are shown…

AMC”s “The Walking Dead” is a post-apocalyptic television show based on an ongoing comic book series. Set in Atlanta, Georgia the plot follows a small group of people, led by police officer Rick Grimes, struggling to survive after a pandemic of an unknown disease causes people to turn into zombies. After infection, a person initially dies, but is then somehow revived back to “life.” These zombies, or “walkers” as they are deemed on the show, seemingly have no self-awareness, but are able to walk and respond to surrounding stimuli. Additionally, they have an unquenchable hunger for human flesh, which, when in large enough numbers, pose a great danger to those still living and unaffected by the disease. While the series explores numerous psychological, social, and even philosophical issues, perhaps providing additional subliminal commentary on today’s society, this paper will mainly focus on topics that were only specifically discussed in this Psych 2 course. The existence of the walkers and the interactions between the surviving characters offer great insight into the subjects of neurological biology, the mind-body problem, and consciousness, three matters that were examined in lectures.…

Dead Man Walking is a great book that deals with one of our nations most controversial issues: capital punishment. The books narrator, Sister Helen Prejean, discusses her personal views on capital punishment. She was a spiritual advisor and friend to two death row inmates; Elmo Patrick Sonnier and Robert Lee Willie. From her experiences, she developed views on the death penalty. She believed it was morally wrong and spoke openly about it. Sister Helen successfully defends her views on capital punishment while stating that capital punishment should be illegal. Her experiences have taught her that although these criminals were dangerous and deadly, and that their crimes were inexcusable, a death sentence should not be the answer.…

Walkers were the first breed of zombie that actually craved human flesh. The usually spell-induced African zombies were just soulless beings; they had no desire to feast on people. Very fragile, and mostly decomposed, these “walkers” move extremely slowly. However, what they lack in agility, they make up for in magnitude. Usually walking around aimlessly, the walkers normally travel in groups, a lot like a flock of birds, but at the first sight of flesh the group converges and the next thing you know your overcome. Of all the types of zombies, walkers are probably the most realistic. The idea of somebody dying and being resurrected as a necrotic, dead cannibal is terrifying to a majority of the population. They may lurch about and stumble comically, but it only takes one to alert the rest of the group and nest thing you know you have an army chasing you from all directions. All for the BRAINS!…

A sheriff’s deputy by the name of Rick Grimes cautiously walks out of his vehicle amongst vacant cars scattered everywhere on the road. Slowly pacing himself, he continues to walk through the calamity of bashed windows, rotting bodies, and tarnished things. There was no one. Not a sound in the wind and not a soul in sight. He suddenly hears scuffling of feet coming from somewhere. Pausing in his tracks, he gently sets his hat down and leans under a car to get a better look. There, a pair of dirty feet shuffles away. He jumps up and tries to stop the young girl as she drags a soiled teddy bear through the rough road. He calls her to stop again. The young girl stops. Turning her body slowly, the deputy catches a glance at her face. Pale white skin tarnished with blood drizzling down her absent jaw and blood shot eyes that pierce through his soul. She starts to walk towards him, faster and faster, to the point where she’s charging at him. The deputy fumbles to pull his gun out and BAM! The Walking Dead TV series begins with a bang in 2010. After successfully airing two seasons, The Walking Dead has won an Emmy for Outstanding Prosthetic Make-up, a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Television Series, and numerous other awards. The show is based off a comic book series taking place in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse where Rick and other survivors try to find safe haven from the hordes of “walkers” who savagely devour whatever they seize and infect people with their bite. Through out literature we see that there is not a single cause for zombies. In The Night of the Living Dead by George Romero, radiation from a fallen satellite causes dead bodies to rise from their graves and walk the streets. But, in the AMC series the Walking Dead as well as World War Z by Max brooks, the origin of the outbreak is unknown. People enjoy exploring the things they understand least that is why we made it to the moon and why we now have cures for diseases around the world. Zombies give us something new to try and understand without having to be a top of the line scientist or an astronaut. Human nature makes us have a strong…

It was a Saturday, there was no school, and best of all there was no brothers because they were at our grandmother's to go swimming in her pool. It was warm, and sunny day outside but instead of going outside to play like most kids do, I wanted to stay inside and watch my favorite show and this show is the most tear-jerking, jaw dropping, and the most suspenseful show ever, and it was, “The Walking Dead”! Now it was season two episode seven and one of the main characters went missing episodes back and this is the episode that they find her but they don't find her as a human, they find her as a walker. A Walker is a zombie, but in this reality, they never thought of a zombie.
