Transmittal Everyone in the United States shops at Wal-Mart Corporation at some point in their life because they have so many items that are useful in everyday life. It can be very frustrating when looking through their many items and you know they carry a product that you simply cannot find. With the popularity of smart phones on the rise, almost 1 per household in the United States, an advanced Wal-Mart application would make sense. Since Wal-Mart already makes their inventory count available for customers through their website, why not add a feature that allows you to also locate the aisle number of the item you are looking for. Since Wal-Mart already has a smartphone application they have invested the time and interest into learning how to make and maintain this specialized program. It would not be too much to simply add a feature to an already existing application.
Executive Summary The cost effectiveness, the added customer satisfaction, and the increase of sales for previously “dud” products are enough reasons to add one more feature to the Wal-Mart application. Customers leave the stores every day and go to other large retailers to purchase products that they simply could not locate within Wal-Mart. It is frustrating to walk around, tiring yourself out, and not find the things that you need. With an added awareness of unknown products it will increase revenue and sales more than managers will realize. There are a lot of products that Wal-Mart carries that is unknown to a lot of people, but will suddenly be accessible with the inclusion of an app that lets you know the location of an item within your local store.
