(Kendall, 2014 pg. 74-75)
Which ones do you embrace and why?
The ones that I embrace are individualism because what you put into life will make you better than what you are. If you push yourself to do better in life then the overall outcome is huge. Along with this is achievement and success. If you push yourself (individual) then you will have success in life as well. Another one that I embrace is freedom and liberty because without these then you are not restricted to do what you want. If there was not freedom then we would be told what, when and how to do things in life.
Are there any you reject, and if so, why?
I do not reject any of these values because they are all something that anyone can rely on or strive for.
What three values would you add to the list if you could?
I would add loyalty and respect, selfless service, and honor to your country
Why are the values you would add not already in the top ten?
My values are different than others values, I could explain my reasons however it has to be agreed by all people in the United States.
What are five symbols that represent America?
The five symbols that I would say are The American Flag, The Liberty Bell, The Statue of Liberty, The Seal of the United States, and the Bald Eagle.
Do they also represent other components of culture, such as material objects or values?
The American flag and The Liberty Bell would represent Freedom and Liberty
The Statue of Liberty represents achievements and success. This is also a non-material culture.
The bald eagle would represent non-material culture as well.

The values that I hold most deeply are friendships, family, and happiness. Values are things that are important in the way I live and work and I believe all of these things play a major role in my life. Since I was a little kid, my values have changed tremendously. Back then, my values would've been playtime, mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets. I believe values mature as you grow and mine definatly did. For example, when I was younger I remember being friends with everyone, but now I only have a select number of friends. This represents values to me. My values inform my actions by them always being my first thought while making a decision. They always play a role in my…

The French gifted the statue to America which represented friendship. The statue represents freedom and democracy and is known universally. Along with the statue of Liberty, there are many other symbols which represent America and the freedom in which is granted to citizens of the U.S. The national bird is the Bald eagle. The bald eagle represents the U.S. because of its majestic figure, long life, great strength, and because they are believed to be native to America. Another important symbol of the United States is the Liberty Bell. The Liberty Bell was meant to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of William Penn’s Charter of Privileges. The Charter of Privileges was Pennsylvania’s original constitution in which contained Penn's ideas on religious freedom, his liberal stance on Native American rights, and his inclusion of citizens in enacting laws. However, the Liberty Bell became an icon after abolitionists adopted the bell as the symbol for the ending of slavery. When someone pictures the United States, one of the first images that comes to mind is the American Flag. The American Flag represents strength and unity in America, something many countries have not obtained. The flag has changed over time but continues to represent America in the most patriotic way. A common representation of support for America is the Pledge of Allegiance. Said across America in schools, sporting events, and other small events, the pledge represents our citizenship in America, freedom, and how America is one nation in which everyone is united. One last example of a symbol of the U.S. is Uncle Sam, a fictionalized character who represents a manifest of patriotic emotion. He has been known as a symbol of the U.S. as early as 1835. The "Star-Spangled Banner" is another widely used and known verbal expression of patriotic behaviors. The lyric is known as the National Anthem and was written on…

Some symbols that recognize civil religion is the American flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, and holiday observances. The American flag shows nationalism and represents patriotism for those who are culturally attached to the United States. The flag is a powerful image because when it is damaged, it's seen as being immoral and not socially accepted because that is destroying American pride. The Pledge of Allegiance symbolizes a way for students and U.S. citizens to have unity with the nation as a whole. It is a popular way to show love and have pride within the nation.…
