Delivering a Persuasive Speech

Here are the elements to look for in your own speech and as you listen to your peers´ speeches:
An introduction that includes a thesis and captures the audience’s attention
Points that support the thesis
Rhetorical devices such as parallel structure, refrain, imagery, figurative language, repetition, quotation, or first-person-plural mode of address
A conclusion that restates the main points and stirs the audience’s emotions, if appropriate
Effective use of tone, pace, and emphasis\
I remember when, I was in public school, we would all ways push for dress out days. Meaning we could where what ever wanted, as long as it was appropriate. We usually dressed out of uniform on Friday. My friends and I would basically take 2 weeks to plan out with they were wearing. We even went shopping together. That Friday went great, everybody was happy, laughing complimenting each other. And then someone asked my principal why we couldn’t do this more often. From there she was furious, she was having a fit, we asked why she was asking that way and she started to say how ungrateful we were, and how immature we were. No one really knew what was going on, then she went on to say, a girl was be bullied and talked about for what she had on. Which really didn’t have anything to do with me,I wasn’t talking about, I didn’t do her anything. Why Am I being fussed at and deprived of something I love to do. That is why I chose the topic off Uniforms in school. I don’t really think it is needed. Why cant we express herself threw clothing. Yeah, someone may get their feelings hurt by what someone said to them,but I feel like if something doesn’t kill you it only makes you stronger. Everyone has a freedom of speech let them say what they want. At the end of the day, those people who talk about another person are only hurting themselves.

What teachers are trying to accomplish is to prepare the students for outside of school and work places, but they do not consider that some workplaces does not require a work uniform (Key). Some places that does not require a uniform to work in is Bard (makes medical supplies), saw mills, construction of any kind. I personally feel that this is one pitiful situation. When a girl can wear shirts, dresses, outfits, casuals, T-shirts, pants, shorts, even male styles of clothing and all of these are very acceptable.
