In my most recent essay I wrote of the violence attributed to video games in light of various shootings and other tragedies that occurred in the past year or so. Throughout this essay I tried to convince the reader by, first, establishing my own credibility with video games, then sharing my own experiences with violent games, and providing both empirical data and valuable insight from trusted sources.…

Introduction: According to certain people, violent video games should be banned; they feel that they are the reason of today’s violence amongst children. But I strongly disagree with them. Like movies, music and any other form of art, video games are there to entertain people and enjoy, not confine. What most people fail to realize today, is that the video game industry, similar to the film industry, is well controlled with a strict code of parental guidelines already in place. Just because video games show violence does not mean they should be banned. Video games bring many benefits such as: increasing self-esteem, reducing pain, encouraging teamwork and it’s beneficial to the economy.…

There is much more fear and violence in the world over all now, then there was twenty years ago. This reflects on a more fearful and violent society. These games are being used as a reason for kid's violent behaviors and actions. Video games were originally intended for entertainment, and they still should be. They are not a "guide" to violence, or a violence enhancer. If these games are now "too violent" then don't buy them. There are ratings for a reason, and you can even check the rating for every game online.[1] The ratings are as follows: early childhood, everyone 10+, mature, rating pending, everyone, teen, and adults only. There have been many arguments that have been brought up arguing that violent video games are making kids more violent. Some arguments go as far as saying all video games are making kids more violent. However, the argument can go both ways. People have brought up that video games help kids with hand eye coordination and allow them to vent their frustrations. The earliest videogame has been around since 1958, and this game was a simple game that had no human and no violence in it. As technology became more advanced the videogames became more violent. Starting with a ball bouncing right and left in a videogame called Tennis for Two and ending with an incredibly violent video game that encourages killing other humans in Manhunt 2. There has been much research done on violent video games and their effects on kids, but no outcome has been decided yet.…

For the last two Decades researchers have investigated whether or not video games cause violent behavior. During this period of time there have been multiple violent events in the world and people make the assumption that the violent behavior is caused by video games. To my experience I would have to agree with this statement and say that video games do cause violent behavior because I have encountered someone's behavior, I have seen the development of how realistic the games look like, and I have personally felt the sensation of playing the games myself.…
