Video Games Have Negative Effects

Video games are addicting too many people around the world. These video games play a huge role in people’s lives, and today over 50% of all people play some type of video game. With this large amount of gamers, there are so many that are negatively impacted in numerous ways. Although there are few benefits with video games such as; educational purposes, improving social skills, and stress relief, there are more bad things including academic failure, social isolation, addictiveness, promotion of violence as well as health problems. Playing video games is harmful to all who play and will result in many negative effects.
Besides video games being a negative effect, they are also a good source for education. It improves many skills for math and reading. Video games improve a players computer literacy and other things such as, reading a map, learning history, and geography. Studies show that these games do help improve psychological functions. For young children it helps them with their brain function. There are games that help them with skills academically. Also helps with skills such as hand–eye co-ordination and spatial skills. Certain games encourage children how to eat healthy. The games are made as for age level. It does bring a large attention span, like the ability to focus for long hours. Big game companies create games aimed at positive skills. Video games may also promote academic failure and may have a negative impact on educational motivation and learning ability.
In fact, those who play video games constantly have a lower mark on average than those who do not. When children focus on video games they tend to slack on homework which decreases their academic level. Studies have shown that the more time spent on games the poorer their performance in school. Children and young adults spend countless hours on playing video games and do not spend time on school work or their social life. Children do not go out and
