Victoria's Secret Persuasive
Dear Victoria’s Secret, What do you think should be put in the minds of cute, adorable children? They should learn their A, B, C’s and 1, 2, 3’s. They should know nursery rhymes and children’s songs. They should know how to read and write. They absorb everything they could see; I mean what child shouldn’t want to have a grasp of everything. They are over- achievers. You know, they know what they should not know, the stuff that you put on your posters. Little kids should not be exposed to that amount of inappropriate stuff. Imagine a little kid walking to Toys R Us and pointing at a women’s bra on your poster. He asks his mom, “What is that?” The ashamed mother of this child grabs him by his hand and drags him away. It also embarrasses women and is disturbing to most shoppers that are 11 or 12 years of age. You have to do something about it. As I casually walk through Menlo Park Mall, I force myself to cover my face and stare at the floor because I’m so disturbed. I always feel like there are butterflies in my stomach. Many teens get put into an awkward position when your Dream Angels advertisement comes on TV; especially if their parents are with them. I even see your advertisements when I’m helping my mom look for recipes online. They just seem to pop up! Now, I understand that you have to advertise your products by getting your word out there, but, you could always decrease the publicity of your commercials. Also, you don’t need to put a humongous billboard or a giant portrait in every open space you find. Coming from a sixth grader, I don’t want to see 5-6 women showing off their body. Why not just show pictures of the actual product? As a matter of fact, do you really think that you gain customers by the kind of display you’re using? For some boys, it may be a dream come true to see Victoria’s Secret’s models, but, I’m sure that many people get turned off by seeing these images. Showing the picture of the product only is one of the perfect

They draw you in by bold tasteful colors, typical models, and sexual messages. The Victoria’s Secret and the Polo ad both used dark colors to set the mood to an intense commercial. The characters play a secretive role that makes you interested in what this attractive figure has. The difference is the Victoria’s secret ad is a dominant girl advertisement and Polo is strictly to attract male buyers. In a majority of these ads, a larger model is never shown. That alone sets the audience to a select few. People will always compare themselves to these models and if they don’t feel like they are good enough, they will never purchase that…

Victoria’s Secrets underwear ad has a really influencing roll on the ladies and their husbands. This ad tries to convince the audience by placing rhetorical strategies such as ethos, logos, and pathos to buy their products. As I’ve heard Victoria’s Secret is famous by their high performance modeling and how they look in the underwear they sell. This product calls the attention of the women and some men because they have the fame of sexy underwear. The message they want to transmit at the beginning of the commercial is “One Gift a Thousand Fantasies”, which means that you’ll never regret the article of clothing that you bought because it will satisfy you and your partner completely. Besides being underwear it will give “a thousand fantasies”.…

    Tom Ford Argument

There are countless of negative interpretations that can be said about the Tom Ford advertisement that basically contains a woman caressing a Tom Ford cologne with her almost bare breasts. However, putting all the negative comments aside, the advertisement has served it sole purpose, which was to get the public’s interest and attention. The focused demographic are men, and when it comes to selling products to men, sex sells. Applying my cultural eye on marital status, which in my case is dating experience, men are extremely physical beings. If you want to get a man’s attention by placing a basic photograph of a cologne, you will not get the respond that you are seeking. Whereas if you place an advertisement with an almost naked woman (like…

The big boom in child advertisement occurred in the 1980’s. Working class parents had to spend more time in the work place, so this meant less time at home with their children. They compensated for the loss of family time, by spending more money on their children. According to Schlosser, many industries started to pick up on parents excessive money spending on their kids, so they decided to focus more of their advertising on children. Before the rise in child marketing the only kind of advertising kids were being exposed to were products such as candy and toymakers. Now oil, automobile and phone companies are directing their advertisements toward children. These companies knew that most children wouldn’t be interested in such products, due to the fact that they had no need for oil or cars at such a young age. So, advertising agencies had to come up with creative, kid friendly names like “Kid Connection” to draw children’s attention to their marketing firm. Through the wise and successful techniques of Ray Kroc and Walt Disney, companies found out that “children often recognize a brand logo before they can recognize their own name.” When companies would instill brand loyalty into children it would be known as the “cradle-to-grave” method. Companies wanted kids to remember their brand…

I have been made aware of your plan to build a beneficial facility for young people in Chino Hills. Please read the following letter that will explain to you that building a youth activity center would be most beneficial to our wonderful city. Many may say that no one would come to the James Larson Youth Activity Center because of its membership fees, but any child who cannot afford the fee because financial problems in their family can submit their information and will be able to attend the facility. All the membership fees collected from the facility will go towards the facility itself, and to pay for certified workers. A few reasons the youth activity center should be built are, the center will be a great place for students to get tutored afterschool, in the long run, improving their state-standardized testing scores, building the James Larson Youth Activity center will also be a great place for youth to get involved in their community, volunteering all around the Chino/Chino Hills area, and finally, the James Larson Youth Activity Center will have many facilities and a variety of activities for youth to participate in, preventing them otherwise spending their time elsewhere, getting into trouble.…

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is my choice by far compared to our last president. Romney would be my choice for these reasons: his coal support, his Christian ideas for America, and his plan for lowering gas prices for our country. Romney has continually seen what things need to be done and how to do them to make our country strive. President Obama’ s plan has been attempted but not successful in anyway. We are in a bigger debt now than when he came into office. Obama care is okay for the upper and middle class, but if you make between 20 and 35 thousand dollars a year you have to pay for the healthcare some how.…

Pictures like these are then pasted everywhere to convince you to buy the products so you can look, or at least feel like whoever is advertising the products. This can have a detrimental effect on certain people buying the products, because not everything advertised is real. For example, you buy the shampoo that Miranda Kerr is advertising to make your hair stronger and more nourished. You use it at home and you don’t see much change. But then it hits you, you didn’t buy the shampoo because it said it was going to make your hair more nourished, you bought it just because Miranda Kerr was advertising it and you want to be and look like her. The advertising industry knows these can be the behaviour of some consumers so they deliberately put a…
