But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. In this my second interpretation project step one, I will illustrate the four steps of the Interpretive Journey for the New Testament letters in Journey into God's Word: Your Guide to Understanding and Applying the Bible (pp.100-102) and apply these steps to Galatians 5:16-18 and "grasp the text in their own." The main verse is Galatians 5:16 which states: "This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." In these three verses Paul exhorted the Galatians to walk in the Spirit. Paul says that anyone who walks in the Spirit "will absolutely not" do the desires of the flesh. Paul contrast the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit.…

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.…

Lies have been around for as long as people have been. We all lie, whether it is to protect someone we love of to cover up something we don’t want others to know about, it is still lying, and we all do it everyday. Lying has become the new normal for our modern society, so much so, that some of us have lost our morals completely. It is just so much easier and quicker to just lie to someone than to tell the truth, and now you can never tell who is lying to you or who is telling the truth. People use to have morals about lying and many people would feel bad about it and teach their children to never lie, but now in today’s society they just pop out of our mouths like they're nothing. We will never stop lying because it’s easier to live a lie than it is to tell the truth, because the truth might come with consequences, but so does lying.…

Against such there is no law” (p.674). This verse speaks of how true character is developed through the situations that people face. Actions almost always speak louder than the words people speak. When actions are not proper, good, or following in the manner that true character would deem appropriate, then the devil is at work and people must fight this if they are to show Jesus and his ways to the…

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” - NKJV…

The Bible states in (Proverbs 6:16-19) " These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil. (New King James Holy Bible, 1997) A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren". Scripture tells us that God hates lying and being deceitful or bearing false witness upon another. According to Joseph Stowell, " Beguilement, deceit, lying, and false witness are all methods of Satan to defeat God 's glory in us and through us". As Christians if we choose to use ethical violations when we are speaking we would in no way be portraying the true meaning of Christianity or God.…
