In this project an 8x8 multiplier was designed and simulated at the gate level and at the transistor level using the AMS simulator in Cadence Design System. We optimized the multiplier for speed by implementing fundamental building blocks directly in CMOS with the IBM CMRF7SF 0.18um process. Booth's multiplication algorithm was used to reduce the number of partial products, and thus the number of adders, providing a speed advantage. Furthermore, the adder circuit, which is the primary source of delay, was constructed with two layers of carry lookahead logic (CLA) to decrease propagation delay. A sign extension trick is utilized to further decrease the number of logic gates between the input and output. By using transistor level implementations for the CLA logic and the full adder, our design also reduces the total area required compared to gate level designs. Layout was constructed for each block and the full architecture. The worst case delay time with 100fF load capacitance was approximately 2.98ns. This propagation delay is 46% faster than the reference gate level design, where delay was 5.50ns. The final schematic consumes a total area less than 200x200 square microns. Total power consumption at an input signal rate of 200MHz was 2.5mW.…

Aryabhata (476–550 CE) was the first in the line of greatmathematician-astronomers from the classical age of Indian mathematics and Indian astronomy. His most famous works are the Aryabhatiya (499 CE, when he was 23 years old) and the Arya-siddhanta. Name While there is a tendency to misspell his name as "Aryabhatta" by analogy with other names having the "bhatta" suffix, his name is properly spelled Aryabhata: every astronomical text spells his name thus,[1] including Brahmagupta's references to him "in more than a hundred places by name".[2] Furthermore, in most instances "Aryabhatta" does not fit the metre either.[1]…

The Sulba sutra was written on 12th century B.C. but the Pythagoras theorem was introduced on 6th century B.C, 600 years after Sulba sutra. That is, most of the works, theorems and concepts of mathematics existed in India on its own form even before in other countries. Let’s look at the glorious history of mathematics in India, its present state, and to what it is pointed.…

Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyangar was an Indian Mathematician who was born in Erode, India in 1887 on December 22. He was born into a family that was not very well to do. He went to school at the nearby place, Kumbakonam. Ramanujan is very well known for his efforts on continued fractions and series of hypergeometry. When Ramanujan was thirteen, he could work out Loney’s Trigonometry exercises without any help. At the of fourteen, he was able to acquire the theorems of cosine and sine given by L. Euler. Synopsis of Elementary Results in Pure and Applied Mathematics by George Shoobridge Carr was reached by him in 1903. The book helped him a lot and opened new dimensions to him were opened which helped him introduce about 6,165 theorems for himself. As he had no proper and good books in his reach, he had to figure out on his own the…
