Vascular Imaging Lab
The physicians of the Hattiesburg Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute wish to inform the Administration and Board of Directors of our intentions to form and operate a vascular imaging lab that is separate and independent of the present vascular lab. Our intentions are to initiate this process and be fully operational by June 15, 2016.

Over the last several years, the clinic’s vascular imaging lab policy has led to the exclusion of full participation of multiple members of the Heart and Vascular department who are fully trained and qualified to supervise and interpret vascular imaging studies. Excluding a physician from providing services which he is qualified to provide is unprecedented in the Hattiesburg Clinic. Currently, members of the Vascular Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery and Neurology Departments participate fully in the Vascular lab. However, the Heart and Vascular physicians who are qualified and trained do not.

The exclusion of our qualified physicians is no longer acceptable to our department and our recourse is to establish our own vascular imaging lab as an independent center within our department.

This new vascular imaging lab will be located within our department on the 3rd floor. This lab will service our internally generated studies and we fully expect to share all “un-referred” studies from within the Hattiesburg Clinic as well as those outside referrals, equally, with the present vascular lab. We will independently seek and achieve lab certification and implement our own quality review measures.
