A member of such a society based on character, scholarship and leadership is one who can demonstrate these three tasks in their everyday lives. The ease of maintaining a balanced schedule whilst also upholding these characteristics may not be the simplest of tasks at times, even for the best students, although the drive to strive for this essence sets individuals apart from the majority. I believe that in my everyday life, I demonstrate these ideals and would heartily enjoy guiding others in them. To be exercise any of these qualities requires one’s own desire, a desire which I not only try to instill into myself, but into others as well. Being part of the National Honor Society would not only be an honor in and of itself, but an honor which is able to transcend its membership and let a person such as myself try to better the school, town, and familial communities by doing good in each of them.…
I have upheld the Chanhassen High School National Honor Society 4 pillars of character, leadership, scholarship and service. I am currently involved in key club, rotary interact, tennis, babysitting, as well as working at the Big Thrill Factory, and it is through these activities that being kind, a leader friendly, and polite, truly allows me to shine.…
Throughout my four years of high school, I have consistently pushed myself beyond my limits and comfort zones in attempt to discover my place in the world. I spent most of first two years discovering who I was as an individual, ultimately manifesting into inspiration for success. I grew out of “fitting in” and decided to turn my life and aspirations towards a greater direction; on this road of discovery, I separated myself from those who valued arrogance and indifference. “Nerd Squad” is what I am a part of today, which is why I am currently confident enough to apply for the National Honors Society Scholarship. I believe I have grown into a tenacious, sympathetic, and joyous young man that the entire school has seen develop, and I am honored…
The National Honors Society recognizes students who have great leadership skills, strong character, and who have a great desire to serve their community. I believe that I demonstrate all of these attributes. I work very hard to do well in school, I continue to serve in leadership positions in the community and I strive to be an individual…
The four pillars of National Honor Society – character, leadership, scholarship, and service – are the attributes that define the society’s members. Therefore, all pillars are important for students to follow, so that they may benefit the world and make a difference. Character, for instance, is the product of relentlessly striving to make the right choices, one after the other. Furthermore, young leaders displaying initiative, self-sacrifice, determination, and confidence can lead anything to greatness.…
The four pillars of the National Honor Society; scholarship, leadership, character, and service are the four qualities of a well-rounded individual. They have not only embodied who I strive to be, but have helped me achieve success and impact throughout my local community and my time as a national honor society member. Scholarship has helped me define not only who I am as a student, but has helped me prepare for my future. Without my drive to maintain my academics and pursue knowledge, I would not have discovered my love and passion for teaching. This newly discovered passion has helped me narrow down my future career, special education. Service, has helped me develop one of my individual characteristics, as I now understand the importance…
The four pillars of National Honors Society, scholarship, service, leadership, and character, have paved a path for me as a student and as a person. Scholarship has taught me to strive to be the best student I can be. I use scholarship to keep up with my school work and never give up when a class is hard. I always strive for the best grade I can get and I will stop at nothing until I reach my goal. I will continue to use scholarship as I go to college and pursue my dream as a pediatric dentist. I will study, I will learn, and I will never give up no matter what happens along the way. I use service when I volunteered to help my local private school. I was never asked to do so, but I felt as if I was giving back to a school that had done so much…
It is a great honor to be nominated in an esteemed club of NBTHS, which idolizes the importance of academic excellence and values leadership, service and character. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society would not only mark an achievement in my high school career, but would also reflect the hard work and effort I have put into maintaining my grades and developing a respectable character. The NHS gives me a great opportunity to help the community and display my character to its full potential. As a student, academics has been one of my top priorities and maintaining a certain grade in each of my classes has been an objective that I have done to the best of my ability to complete. If I get selected into NHS that objective will be justified and I will acquire more opportunities to improve my community and share my knowledge with others in NHS. After not getting accepted into National Junior Honor Society in middle school I made it a goal that in high school I would possess the attributes to get into NHS.…
The National Honors Society places a strong emphasis on the cornerstone traits of character, leadership, and service within the school and outside of school. I have met, and in some cases exceeded these requirements by being honest, assisting others, and participating in school activities.…
National Honor Society continues to shape me into an independent, self-sufficient young adult. The four pillars play an important role in my life no matter where I am. For example, whether I’m at work, in school, or on the basketball court, scholarship, service, leadership, and character transform me into a compassionate leader. Furthermore, National Honor Society will also continue to lead me through the rest of my life. As I head off to college, I will always have the traditional values of the four pillars to lean on. While studying in the field of nursing, I can take what I learned and apply it to my everyday life, even when helping others. Hopefully if I am successful, my leadership will rub off on others, transforming their lives as I…
The National Honor Society is a group of students that exemplify the traits of leadership, character, citizenship, and intelligence. It is crucial that the future members of this organization exhibit these characteristics to the best of their abilities. For a great majority of my student life, I strived to perform these traits to my utmost capability, aiming to become an excellent example for my fellow peers. Throughout my high school career, I have been on the honor role for every quarter thus far. I feel deep pride and satisfaction in my grades and scholarly accomplishments, for they are a visual example of the hard work and large amount of effort I put into my studies. Although I not acquired any formal leadership positions, I exert my leadership abilities by example. In my classes, I often…
After attending Tarrant county college, I decided to join the Cornerstone Honors program. Over the course of a year I was exposed to the idea of being able to formulate my own ideas through rigorous course work centered, on critical thinking and analytical skills. Following the completion of the program, I was finally confident in myself as an overall person. Over the course of my first year, the Honors Texas government course had created an atmosphere where my peers and I were able to express ourselves in a positive setting and learn from each other’s perspectives. In addition, I learned to have an informed opinion about my own beliefs. As a result, I gained the confidence to run for an officer position for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.…
The National Honors Society is more than just a honor roll, but an organization that recognizes the efforts made by hard working high school students. I would like to join National Honors Society because it would challenge my development in both my community and my school. The National Honors Society, consisting of over one million students, would make me a part of a large community that could create many opportunities for me in the future. A highly respected organization such as the National Honors Society is very significant to me. The scholarships and programs offered by this organization helps increase my ability to get the education that I desire that I might not have been able to receive due to the rapidly rising costs of college. Every…
As a babysitter, volunteer cheerleading coach, and role model, I behave with respect to all the little eyes on and off of me. I am transparent. I have nothing to hide, yet everything to display. I am balanced. As a Key Club member and jobholder, I remember to set aside time for me and for others. As a marketing intern for Shelf Genie of Pittsburgh, I pay great attention to detail and learn from my authority. As a young student finding her way, I have job shadowed to lock in my decision to become a marketing major at…
For a girl who is use to achieving at everything she does, it was a great astonishment when I heard I didn’t make it into National Honors Society. I have never felt such like a failure before. When I first started high school as a freshman I have heard of National Honors Society because my brother was in it so I wanted to be in it as well. At my high school you can only be invited into it as a junior. To be invited into it you must have had a 3.5 GPA or higher.…
