Using Some of the Knowledge You Have Gained as a Reference, Evaluate Which Has Contributed More to Gaining That Knowledge, Your Senses or Your Emotions.
Throughout everyday life you use your five senses; touch, smell, hear, taste and sight. You have learned to use these senses during your life, and have connected different emotions with the different things you sense. Though the use of your senses don’t just help you learn within the boundary of school it also helps you out of school. Through your life you have used all your senses to learn and gain knowledge, whether it’s from in school or out of school experiences. During the extent of your life you’re going to continue using your senses in everyday life and in the future at work. This essay will show how your senses affect the way you learn and the way it affects your everyday life. In class you go through many senses and emotions that start from when you enter the room. The senses may have to do with smelling the bad B.O of your teacher or seeing the things your going to be going over in class. Your emotions upon entering the class usually vary from dread of not finishing all your homework, to relief that the class has finished. Right when you enter, you’re in a learning environment. Your emotions might effect, no they will effect how you learn. If your tired and just couldn’t give a wrap about school then your most likely not going not learn a lot. This is due to the fact that when you’re tired your senses are fuzzy and can’t concentrate on what’s being said. Also since your focus is off your cant see what on the board, you ever get that fuzzy eye feeling? Yeah that’s usually what happens. You can’t learn that way because when you feel like this all your emotions tell you that you’re bored and tired. Making your class environment a hard place to learn. This ends up becoming a distraction. For instance the last class of the day for me is the longest class, because I'm tired and I just want to go home. With these feelings, my mind starts to wander to what I'm going to do at home, what I'm going to eat and who I’m going to talk to online. Though how you learn

As Gatto, an expert in boredom, explains, “…if you asked the kids, as I often did, why they felt so bored, they always gave the same answers: They said the work was stupid, that it made no sense, that they already knew it.”(Colombo, Cullen, and Lisle 142) Why would students answer that classes made no sense to them? There are two primary reasons, which are because of teachers and students. The first reason is that teachers mostly do not have different teaching strategies, so some students could not understand lessons because the way teachers give out information is ineffective with the way these students prefer to study. Some students are visual learners while other students would rather learn from normal lectures. For instance, some students tend to easily understand lectures if the lectures combine videos or pictures since these things help students to imagine what they are learning from teachers. The second reason is that students do not relate to subjects in which they are not interested. I believe that many students always get the feeling like they are forced to digest dry subjects like history and literature. As an illustration, when I was in the tenth year of high school, I got only three out of ten points in my third in-class writing exam about a poem in my literature class because I did not have enough deep ideas to analyze a poem as my…

The fact of the matter is that the senses are meant only to inform us as to what is beneficial and what is harmful, and in that respect they are perfectly clear and distinct. Our mistake comes in expecting them also to inform us of the true nature or essence of the things we are perceiving, when they can only give us very obscure information in this regard.”40…

In the text, Brain-Based Learning The New Paradigm of Teaching, Eric Jensen emphasizes the correlation between students’ emotional states and their learning potential. Adjacently, of the various emotional states a student experiences at any given time, distressed is the most detrimental. A brain in distress results in a long list of negative impacts on learning, including the loss of the ability to correctly interpret subtle clues from the environment, the loss of the ability to index and access information, diminished long-term memory, loss of the ability to perceived relationships, and a lessened capacity for high-order thinking (Jensen, 44). Therefore, managing classroom stress through brain-based strategies is an enormous advantage for students.…

Perception is the way a in which a person or an individual sees and understands the world. In other words, perception is to recognize a unique interpretation of the situation, not the exact recording of it. Recognition of the difference between the perceptual and real world and real world is vital to the understanding of organizational behavior. So, we should know that there is a difference between real and perceptual world. Every person perceives the world in his own way and understanding. And sometimes when our perception is different from the real world it creates problems and misunderstandings. Sensation is the way human beings use their sensory organs to experience color, loudness, taste, scent and smell and heat. There are five senses, vision, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. But perception is the complicated process of interaction of selection, organization, and interpretation of stimuli. Although, perception depends upon the senses for raw data, the cognitive process may filter, modify, or completely change these data. (The Perception Process , 2010)…

Almost everyday, the majority of high school students are assigned with assignments that they most likely do not want to finish.Students are assigned with homework. Homework is not always interesting to everyone and can require a lot of time which can make students procrastinate to finish it. Another task students may receive is a reading assignment. Not all students dislike reading, but for others it can be difficult to read a book that they have no interest in. Having no interest in a book and trying to comprehend what is being read can be difficult while being bored because a student’s thoughts might trail off. One last activity students may have to participate in is watching a video during class. Many students are lacking sleep from the times that they actually go to sleep at night, and they often would rather sleep during class, if they had the choice. With a video that students may find uninteresting, and with the need to sleep, they would probably rather sleep than watch the video which causes boredom. Boredom can be felt in many ways.…
