Using EBP In Nursing Practice: A Case Study
I would like to use EBP in my nursing practice, especially when assigned to patient with unfamiliar diagnosis. Searching online journal can provide important information needed to care for my patient. Currently, in medical surgical unit, we are no longer allowed to delay wound care dressing after 48 hours. We were never told the reason why we must not delay wound beyond 48 hours. I could use my research skills to find needed evidence; and to accomplish needed evidence, I must ask clinical questions, search literature, screen finding, appraise articles and apply finding. Following this steps, studies shows that early removal of wound dressing had significant shorter stay and incurred lower treatment cost than those in delay of dressing (Toon,
