Use of Internet
Nowadays, computer is a part of our life. Computer was not that popular in past and Internet changed it since 1990. The fountain of information on the Internet provides us an easier way to find the information that we want. The article of “An Opposite View” wrote by Winn Martin talks about the effects of the mass media and the high technology. He mentioned that the effect is unpredictable so we should not reject it. However, some elders are rejecting the Internet that they prefer to receive the information from the mass media rather than Internet.
No doubt, mass media is the traditional way to receive information like newspaper, television, etc. By comparing the mass media and the Internet, mass media can give us the more professional information that we want. The publishers of mass media need to take responsibility to want they publish, which means their information should be proved otherwise they would be punished. Even if they publish some incorrect information, they will adjust it as soon as possible. Once, one of the television channels in Hong Kong got the wrong message that the Chinese president is dead and published it in the news channel. The whole city was in sensation as no one including the Commissioner's Office of China's Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong S.A.R got such information. However, after two hours, the committee of the television channel found that the message is invalid. He published it and his apology immediately in order to correct what he did wrongly. It shows that mass media will confirm whether the information is valid.

This gives a problem that the one who exam the information can have the power of hiding the information. They can hide the information that the public should know. Most of the time the one who act this character is the government. There is plenty of examples show how the

Many people believe in the old way of doing things. “Elite media outlets controlled access to information” (par 2). Some people believe that technology make people lazy and the old traditional journalism is better than over the wide open door of the internet. Some agree with Siegal that “a constant flow of news and information” (par 1) can disable our mind from understanding the information and the value of the knowledge. However the benefit of technology is incomparable to anything else. The internet help business to get the product across the nation. All over the world people are using technology to communicate with their love one and other. Without technology there is no way to get our ideas to others. I acknowledge the point that some people are making that too much technology is not however the benefit that people gain from technology can not…
