Urban Foxes Research Paper
Foxes, just like us, each have their own diet. Foxes are omnivores, so they will gladly eat any sort of food they can find. Foxes are solitary hunters and scavengers; they specialize in small prey, such as birds, rodents and hares. Rural foxes have diets much different than those of urban foxes. 95% of a rural fox’s diet consists of meat, be it hunted or scavenged; and only 55% of an urban fox’s diet consists of meat (The Fox Project). The only reason there is such a drastic difference is because many people in the cities deliberately feed foxes food from their gardens or homes.
