Unrestricted Submarine Warfare In Germany Essay
The German U-boats were powerful enough to take down even some of the largest vessels in the British Navy. Armed with deck guns, explosives and torpedoes, these submarines were capable of causing great destruction, often bringing enormous death tolls by attacking merchant ships or cruise liners. Eventually, Germany took a policy of unrestricted submarine warfare in which there are no neutral vessels, so the U-boats would sink any ships in the waters around Great Britain.
