Unit 7 Exercise 2
College life can be rough if you aren’t prepared for it. There are a few things every college student should know to make the two to 4 year journey a little easier for them. Take control of your life. Get to class on time and every time. Study, study, and let me say it again, study. This is just a few things you can do to start you down a path of success. Let’s start off with taking control of your life. For most students, the largest difference between college and high school is at college there isn’t an instructor or parent right on top of you telling you what to do. This was hard for me at first. That sense of freedom can go to your head and you tend to fall behind in work. Those blasted video games I got to tell you. The student getting to class on time ties in greatly with taking control of your life. You may feel now that you have all of this freedom, “Oh I don’t need to go to class today”. The late nights and the added amount of class work you have will make you tired and you won’t want to get up in the morning. Don’t fall into this hole. Skipping class will affect your GPA with no remorse. More class you miss the more work you miss. Also if you skip class that just adds to the amount of studying you need to do to keep up. Study, study, study. Honestly do I have to say it again? I don’t know if you have been told but most of the work for college is actually not done “at college”. The amount of time you need to spend studying at home or doing your homework adds up to more hours then you are actually in the classroom. Studying is needed so you are prepared for any pop quizzes or any major exams. It also helps with you being able to understand the content you are going over in class. There are several other things I could go over but that in its self would be page upon pages. Based on what I’ve said here you already don’t have time to read all of it even it was here. Get to class and study right up until it almost kills you. Trust me in the end it will be
