It now gives people with disabilities rights in the areas of *Employment *Education *Trade organisations and qualification bodies *Access to goods, facilities and services *The management, buying or renting of land and property Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001, SENDA. This act makes it unlawful for education providers to discriminate against pupils with a special need or disability. The act requires schools, colleges, universities, adult education and youth services to provide the same opportunities as those who were not disabled or with a special need. Children Act 2004 provides the legal framework for Every Child Matters, this includes the requirement for *Services to work more closely, forming an integrated service - stay safe *A common assessment framework to help the early identification of need *A shared database of information which is relevant to the safety and welfare of children *Earlier support for parents who are experiencing problems *To allow children to be healthy *Helping children to enjoy life *Assist children in their quest to succeed *Help achieve economic stability for our children's futures
