Team work is important in school for the school to run smoothly and for the curriculum and lessons to be delivered. This means that all the staff have to work as a team from the Head teacher to TA’s to the office staff to dinner supervisors. This allows all individuals within the staff to achieve their goals and effectively support the children. For example if the teacher needs photo copying doing it would mean she had to leave the class and leave the children unsupervised but as a team she asks the TA to take it to the office and ask them to do it, the office staff take the work and photo copy it allowing the TA to swiftly return to class to support the teacher, the office staff then bring the photo copies when they are done so that the learning experience of the children is not hindered and the children’s safety is not compromised by the teacher leaving the room.
The purpose and objectives of the team in which I work is to deliver the national curriculum to the children and promote the children’s intellectual, emotional and social development. The class teacher creates lesson plans and delivers lessons based around the curriculum, marks work and delegates work and jobs to the TA who supports the teacher by carrying out requested jobs such as getting out equipment.
As a volunteer TA I work under the direction of the teacher carrying out work that the teacher delegates to me, for example those children who need extra support are given it at the appropriate time due to the fact the class teacher has briefed me before the lesson outlining in brief what is happening and

Modern telephone systems offer a variety of features. Some are essential communication tools; other features that people will likely use on a more discretionary basis. One common and frequently used feature of today’s telephone systems is voice mail. If you can’t take am incoming call, voice mail allows callers to record messages which you can access at your convenience. An auto-attendant feature, useful for businesses, consists of a centralized recorded message to greet callers and direct their calls to the right numbers. You can use a phone systems conference – calling feature to allow a number of people to participate in a call at the same time. Each system allows different numbers of people to participate, and all remain on the call until they hang up. Telephone systems offer various features for managing incoming calls, one useful feature is call transfer, which allows me to transfer calls from my number to another number. Another much used feature is call holding if you are on the phone and receive an incoming call, you can put the first call on hold and attend to the second call. One more feature within the trust is call mute/secrecy, with allows me to mute the call so that the person on the other end of the phone can’t hear what I’m discussing, which helps with confidentiality because they can’t hear client or patient information.…

Assignment requirements Candidates must successfully complete all parts of an assignment to a satisfactory and appropriate standard in order to gain a pass for that assignment. The assignments have been designed to assess the ability of candidates to cover a range of issues associated with a given unit. Consequently, it is not appropriate for parts of any assignment to be omitted, submitted incomplete or of an unsatisfactory standard. All assignments must be completed and assessed within the candidate’s period of registration. It is up to centres to decide how long they give candidates to complete their assignments, and this may vary from one unit to another. Tutors/assessors are reminded of their responsibility to provide written feedback to candidates regarding their assignments and of the fact that candidates should not be encouraged to submit work for final assessment until it is complete and to the appropriate standard for the task. Bearing in mind the above responsibility which lies with centres, candidates will normally have two opportunities to submit each individual assignment. Candidates who fail any task should not resubmit work within one week of receiving their result. Centres must provide precise written feedback and where necessary, further learning opportunities to maximise the candidate’s potential to succeed on their second attempt. Candidates must have achieved the minimum marks indicated for each question in the short answer question element. Should the candidate not meet the minimum marks indicated, their second opportunity should take the format of a professional discussion. Guidance on this is provided in the Assignment Guidance. Learners may choose to word process their answers. Assessors may guide learners in the length of their responses. They should use the marking guidance as a rough indication of what should be covered, and use the space…

The term ‘agreed ways of working’ relates to the way an employee must work and the rules that they must adhere to. As an employee you should work in a way that is clearly set out in the job description – this will then mean that you know what areas of care you would be responsible for and those that should be reported to a higher member of staff etc. The ‘agreed ways of working’ have been set out in accordance with the policies and procedures of the care organisation, for example, the health and safety policies and procedures or the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. The employee will/ should be informed about any updates that will be put in place in the policies and procedures – this will usually be passed over in handover or in a staff meeting. The policies and procedures should be regularly updated, documented in hard form i.e. on paper, kept in a file and easily accessible to all staff. Informal supervisions, for example, observations, will enable the employer to identify the employee’s strengths and weaknesses; thus proving if they are working to the ‘agreed ways’. Appraisals can be just one formal way that offers both the employee and employer the opportunity to resolve the weaknesses through discussion and suggestions can be made for improvement.…

Team work is essential for the school curriculum to be taught across the school starting with the head teacher down to the TA. Another benefit of teamwork is that the teacher can divide the work out between the members of the team. This enables the individuals to concentrate on their specific duties that will contribute to the teacher’s lesson plan. This gets the job done faster. Communication / sharing ideas become an important aspect of teamwork, so the whole team can see the class progress steadily to its goals.…

    1. As a carer your role is not to do things for the individuals you care for but to do the tasks including the service user. A support workers role is to work in partnership with the individual and support their decisions, offer as much or as little assistance the service user requires for their care and support them to do as much as possible for themselves. If you provide too much care for an individual they can lose their skills and independence and not learn any new life skills. By providing support and encouraging the individual to participate in their daily living needs you are helping them to develop and maintain their skills for everyday life. Skills are easily regained if the service user is shown how to complete a task. For example if a service user is having a shower and would usually have his hair washed for him, why not show him how to wash his own hair. Whilst providing personal care for my residents when it comes to hair washing, I normally provide the shampoo and apply the shampoo to the service users palm. I then mimmick washing my own hair and ask the service user to copy me. This is also useful in showing a service user where needs to be washed. I also talk to the service user about the task they are doing, for example I would mimmick washing my arms and say wash your arms that's it, don't forget underneath your arm. This is enforcing new skills as well as maintaining them, it also empowers the service user as they have achieved this task themselves with minimal support.…

The teacher will plan the lessons and schemes of work that will set out clear intentions so that the childrens’ progress can be monitored.
