In this task I will be reflecting upon an incident undertaken on area of my work. The model of reflection I’ve chosen is Gibbs (1988), which involves reflection on the description, feelings, evaluation, conclusion and action plan (Gibbs 1988). The Gibbs (1988) reflective cycle is fairly straightforward and encourages a clear description of the situation, analysis of feelings, evaluation of the experience, analysis to make sense of the experience, conclusion where other options are considered and reflection upon experience to examine what you would do if the situation arose again. The procedure in which I will be reflecting upon is Last offices; I chose this due to how constructive and valuable it was in my personal and professional development as a student practitioner nurse.…

In the event a smaller company was awarded the contract, a larger company would have three ways to file their protest. They could argue or file their complaint with the specific agency that offered the proposal. They could file their protest with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) or the U.S Court of Federal Claims. The FAR encourages both the bidder or contractor and the…

In my opinion, it is very challenging job to find a balance between providing adequate pain medications for suitable candidates and preventing these medications from being misused and abused. Providing care with a holistic approach will allow an FNP the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with their patients. As a result, they can easily monitor patients' use of opioids over time and frequently assess patients' conditions to determine the need for continuing pain medication. Even more important is the need to educate patients about the benefit and the risk when using opioids as well as how to properly discard unused medication. Last but not least, an NP should keep up with current research for alternative pain management such as…

During my fourteen years working as an educator in the Houston area, I have always taught in Title 1 schools. It is generally acknowledged that Title I schools host a great number of struggling and ELL students. Most of these children lack the basic means to succeed in school, due to either insufficient economic resources or limited English Language skills. The majority of newcomers from foreign countries struggle to adapt to the new environment as well as the new language. Since their economic status is low, they often settle in city areas where the poverty level is very high. Oftentimes, Title I students belong in single parent families or households where both parents work an elevated number of hours in order to be able to support their offspring. As a consequence, many older children take the role of parents, caring for the younger ones. In other cases, the absence of both parents for long hours facilitates student absences and…

As nervous as I was when I walked into Saint Joseph Catholic School (K-8) for my first day of kindergarten, I never thought I would be able to leave after 6th grade and enter the world of middle school. In a small school of about 400 kids, I was familiar with every face that passed by me in the hallway. I got to know the kids in my grade so well and we all knew each other’s life stories. By the time I was in 6th grade at Saint Joseph, some of my friends were planning on going to Kinard middle school in 7th grade. At this point in my life, I was not completely content with where I was going to school. The realization came to me that it was time to move on. It was time for me to try something new.…
