Why are the skills listed needed to succeed in the position?
Forensic Biologist
Examine blood and other bodily fluids, hair, bones, insects, plants and animal remains to help identify victims and support criminal investigators.
1. Attention to detail
2. Math skills
3. Excellent organizational and time management skills
4. Excellent writing skills
5. Excellent verbal communication skills
Attention to detail because there will be a lot of reports to write and one has to be very detailed.
Math skills because one has to know how to calculate the amounts for the laboratory work.
Excellent organizational and time management because everything has to be organized in a timely manner, the court will need the findings by a certain date and cannot pass the deadline.
Excellent writing skills because one has to make reports that need to be very professional written because in most cases those report will be read by a judge.
Excellent verbal communication skills because talking in court will be required and /or talking to the investigators about the findings.
