The companies I have chosen are (profit) Adidas (non-profit) Emmaus.

First I’m going to tell about the Global non-profit organization Emmaus.

Emmaus is a charity; their purpose is to help others by selling clothing, furniture etc. They offer people who have troubles a place to stay, they offer them a second change.

Emmaus is still a private business, because they don’t need the money from the government. Emmaus get’s his money by selling stuff.

Emmaus is set up by Henri Antoine Groues, who bought a big house in France and called it ‘Emmaus’ from here he started to collect old clothing and sell it to the poor people for a very cheap price, so the poor people had clothing. The money he raised he used to help other people. The house was so big so other people came also in the house, and helped him with his job.

Emmaus was getting bigger and bigger. He asked the government for 1 million francs to build special houses. In the beginning the government not approved this, but after a while they gave 10 million francs as a gift!!!! For Henri to build houses for the poor!

In 1966 Emmaus started in Holland, on a farm in Haarzuilens, and so a big charity group started.

Emmaus is owned by several foundations:

ACME (World Water Contract Association)

CRID (Development Research and Information Centre)

Coordinationsud.org

EAPN (European Anti-Poverty Network)

Company 2:

It’s really the people that make Google the kind of company it is. We hire people who are smart and determined, and we favor ability over experience. Although Googlers share common goals and visions for the company, we hail from all walks of life and speak dozens of languages, reflecting the global audience that we serve. And when not at work, Googlers pursue interests ranging from cycling to beekeeping, from frisbee to foxtrot.…

Emma cannot find an emotional and social sanctuary in her rural black culture due to her dark skin color, and the writer does not give us any indication of the racism Emma had to endure with. She is totally blind by her hatred toward her own skin color. But not all of her jealousy is without reason. Early in the play John’s behavior toward Effie can be seen as provocation; he knows how Emma fells toward mixed race girls and he still applauds Effie after her dancing and even choses her as his dance partner when Emma refuses to take part. And even toward the end his idolization of mulatto girls is shown with his fascination with Lou Lillian’s long, straight…

Like all of Jane Austin's books, Emma is a story about women moving up on the social ladder through marriage. In that time, women in England were denied the possibility of improving their social status through hard work. In order for them to move up on the social ladder, they had to marry someone who was considered to be of a higher class. The role of women in the nineteenth century England was to attract a husband who had a higher social status, thereby creating a respectable identity for themselves in the social system.…
