Unemployment is an evil that has been creating hurdles in the way of economic growth and development. Unemployment monster preying on Pakistani. Different nations have tried to wipe out the hurdle of unemployment but unfortunately due to lack of proper planning and techniques this problem remains as it is. The rate of unemployment shows the condition of the society. When there is high rate of unemployment, citizens suffer a lot. There are various reasons for the rampant unemployment, these are manifold: lack of education, skills, experience, structural mismatch, etc. Moreover, there are numerous horrible impacts of unemployment on the society such as increase in crime rates, frustration among people, and rise in suicides, income disparities and so many others. Among all the social evils, it is the worst issue as it leads to create low income generation, as a result of it low demand for goods and services and low productivity take place. That indirectly leads to increase crime rates, corruption in the society. FPCCI regional chairman Sheikh Abdul Waheed Sandal said that textile, engineering, plastic, leather, services and other are facing shortage of skilled professionals though unskilled labor force is available everywhere. “There is huge mismatch in market requirement and production of educational institutions,”

From the beginning, unemployment has been the biggest hurdle that leads to waste of resources which is deteriorating the economic and social conditions of the society. High unemployment rate as recorded in 1999 is 2.9% , in 2010 its 5.6% , in 2013 its 6% , and now its 6.2% estimated. It has been observed that it is more in rural ares than in urban areas. As Industrial Development has been taken place working class gets job opportunities. With the passage of time, population increases that leads to create gap between the people and job opportunities. High unemployment rate in South Asian countries is an important issue which should be kept in a lime light. These are the facets of Pakistan‘s unemployment. Moreover, citizens are in need of technical and vocational training, education system according to the requirements of the society. It has been observed that why unemployment is high in Pakistan and there are various effects of it on the society. More evils are producing in the society due to it. For instance there are social, economic, political aspects that are being badly affected by unemployment. It has been observed in this society that poverty and unemployment lead to create frustration, mental disorder. As people suffer financial strain the think about the wrong directions to earn and if through these bad intentions they do not earn to spend a happy life. Then in that situation they attempt suicide. This is the mental disorder that should be eliminated among the people by providing more opportunities for jobs. The financial strain is a best predictor of psyche of the people. Firstly, the reason of the current total unemployment is 10 percent and it is higher than the year before is because many of the citizens stopped looking for job and so they are considered as unemployed workers. They are technically workers that have the potential to work but refuse to find a job. Besides that, the jobless rate continue rising is also because more people foresee the signs of an improving economy and by then, they will start looking for jobs again when inflation happens so that they will manage to get higher pay than their current jobs. This is because when an economy is growing and is an expansion, the demand for workforce would be high so that productivity can be increased to fulfil the excessive demand. At that time the wages will be higher than when economy is in an inflation condition. However, when an economy is in a recession, unemployment is usually rising. The estimated unemployment rate in year 2012 will be lower than 17.4 percent because the US’ workers have foresee the growing economy in the future which means inflation will happen. When inflation happens, US’ workers will start looking for jobs. To have a closer understanding about the estimated unemployment rate in year 2010, there is a graph below the graph that our group took from http://www.tradingeconomics.com/Economics/Unemployment-Rate.aspx?Symbol=USD that discussed about the unemployment rate from July 2008 to July 2010.…

Two serious economic nightmares African governments and the world in general are facing are unemployment and inflation. In Africa, the situation has been made worse by the high birth rate resulting into demographic pressure. As a consequent, there are increasing numbers of new entrants to the labour market negatively proportional to the growth in productive employment. "More than 200 million people globally are reported out of work (Business Week, 2011). This statistic indicates that two third of developed economies and half of developing countries are experiencing a slowdown in employment growth, the paper said. In Africa, unemployment and under-employment is a big problem to the member states. According to ILO, 2008, high unemployment remains one of the greatest challenges to Africa’s development. This has and continues to be a major concern to both member states, policy makers and all other stakeholders. The continuous increase in unemployment has seen increasingly rising poverty level in the sub-Sahara Africa. Pollin et al, 2007, in their study under a UNDP project indicate that in 2005/2006, a large number of individuals who are working could be categorised as working poor because their labour earnings were below the poverty line. This finding is typical of the sub-Sahara Africa situation. To measure…

Unemployment is the result of too many people, too few jobs. In other words, unemployment is the result of overpopulation because overpopulation is defined as a condition where a country’s human population exceeds the carrying capacity of its environment meaning in this case that the population is more than the amount of available or needed jobs. Education is key to the improvement of many problems this country faces. Education is essential in learning the skills required in basic human survival and development such as calculation, economics, biological understanding and also planning such things as budgets and families. Recent studies show that low wages and unemployment tend to make less educated people commit crimes. The study was done on data between 1979 and 1997, when comparing unemployment and crime rate we found much of the increase in crime happened during the time of falling wages and rising unemployment among men without college educations. While the government focuses on crime fighting initiatives as central to controlling crime, this study shows that we should consider in opening more jobs to keep crime rate low in these periods. The impact of labor markets should not be overlooked. We can fight crime, but it will still continue to happen, we should try to attack the problem from the bottom.…

Unemployment defined by the Encyclopedia Britannica is the condition of one who is capable of working, actively seeking work, but is unable to find any work. In addition, to define a person as unemployed, the person must be an active member of the labor force in search of work. (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2012) Unemployment can be caused by several different factors. Depending on the reasons for unemployment, they are classified as such: frictional, structural, and cyclical. There will always be a certain number of people that are frictionally or structurally unemployed due to varying reasons in the economy. Frictional and structural unemployment are usually specific to a person or small region, however, cyclical unemployment only happens when an economy is in a downturn. It signifies a decrease in the gross domestic product or GDP. Unemployment affects not only the unemployed but also society as a whole and the effects can be monetary and/or social. Overcoming certain barriers to job creation can help reduce frictional and structural unemployment. Cyclical unemployment requires government intervention. Using Keynesian economics, government spending must increase to shift the demand curve to the right, which causes employment to rise. Overall, any type of unemployment is an issue but there are ways to reduce the unemployment rates and keep our economy at least close to full employment thus reducing the unpleasant effects of unemployment.…
